Job Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies.
Job Duties:
Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required. Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract. Regularly check your VSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Complete required College trainings. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class. Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean. Comply with all of the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or a Master’s degree from an accredited institution plus 18 graduate hours in Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate level teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay Rate: $675 - $800 per credit hour

Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Maintain and submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Accounting or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Accounting topics and a current CPA license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Accounting.

Title: Temporary – Accounting and Finance Administrative Staff (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY Provides general accounting and professional support in the Finance &amp; Accounting, Budget, and Bursar offices
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of complex administrative functions related to accounting operations. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s financial statements. Manages accounts payable transactions. Researches and resolves complex questions/issues regarding various accounting topics for the College. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s budget statements, with day-to-day operations within the Bursar’s office, and with grant management, invoicing, and reconciliations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years of professional-level accounting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified Public Accountant licensure
Experience working in a higher education environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to interpret College policies and procedures, Tennessee Board of Regents’ policies, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Must demonstrate advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and the internet. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting. Must have proven problem-solving ability and skills. Ability to learn and document accounting processes. Confident in taking initiative, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines. Must be detail oriented with proven analytical and organizational skills. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application.
Rate of Pay: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week, depending on need
