Additionally, this position will likely have special assignments as directed by tax management.Major Activities/Key Challenges:<ul><li>Assist with the accurate and timely preparation of domestic portions of Howmet's consolidated US income tax return.</li><li>Review of tax packages and coordinate data flows into the tax returns.</li><li>Assist with calculations of quarterly taxable income that are used for cash tax payments and tax entries.</li><li>Participate in analyzing tax and financial information for decision making.</li><li>Assist with federal tax accounting.</li><li>Maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and other regulations.</li><li>Various special tax assignments including:<ul><li>Analysis of internal restructurings and external mergers and acquisition activities.</li><li>Gain/Loss calculations, basis studies, etc.</li></ul></li></ul>Essential Knowledge &amp; Skills/Education:<ul><li>2 or more years of experience in corporate federal tax preparation/review and experience in accounting for income taxes.&nbsp;</li><li>State and international tax compliance/provision experience a plus.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.</li></ul>Major Customers<ul><li>IRS</li><li>SEC Reporting group in finance area</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum Two (2) years of experience in federal tax return preparation/review.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance</li><li>State and international compliance/provision experience a plus</li><li>Experience in accounting for income taxes, preferrable in the corporate tax setting</li><li>Income tax compliance and accounting experience with a large multinational company or accounting firm</li><li>CPA or Masters in Taxation; high degree of willingness for continuing and self-education</li><li>Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft and Corptax products</li><li>Excellent communication skills (oral and written)</li><li>Detail oriented, with ability to understand and work towards the bigger picture</li><li>A team player that takes pride in not only the individual's work but the work of the entire group</li><li>Self-confident and motivated, a self-starter that can work independently with minimal supervision</li></ul>Salary range: $70&nbsp;– 90k/year approximation (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
