Job Title: Internal Auditor
Campus Location: Walters State Community College - Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;The Director of Internal Audit supports Walters State Community College in achieving its mission by providing independent, objective, and relevant assurance and advisory services related to risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. The position reports administratively to the College President and functionally to the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Audit Committee through the TBR Chief Audit Executive (CAE).
 The Director is responsible for developing and executing the College’s annual audit plan and for conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits as outlined in the plan or as directed by the President or the TBR Audit Committee. These audits evaluate the effectiveness of the institution’s internal controls, promote continuous improvement, strengthen risk management practices, enhance fraud awareness, and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of financial, administrative, and academic operations. In addition, the work ensures compliance with College policies, Tennessee Board of Regents and State of Tennessee requirements, federal regulations, and applicable accreditation standards. 
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Directs a comprehensive internal audit program for the college and reports results to the Audit Committee through the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Chief Audit Executive (CAE). Ensures compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global Internal Audit Standards. Develops annual audit plans through consultation with the president, senior leadership, and risk assessments, submitting plans to the CAE for presentation to and approval by the TBR Audit Committee.</li>
<li>Designs and executes audit programs, internal control questionnaires, procedures, working papers, and reports. Reviews college records to evaluate compliance with TBR and institutional policies, as well as applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Meets regularly with management to discuss findings, provide recommendations, and oversee corrective actions, including conducting follow-up audits related to the Comptroller of the Treasury’s findings.</li>
<li>Meets with the president and senior management to address strategic initiatives, risks, internal controls, audit status, and other management issues. Provides management advisory services, including interpretation of TBR policies, contractual matters, and related legal or regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Maintains audit working papers in accordance with records retention standards. Prepares required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including status updates, audit plan revisions, management corrective action progress, and other reporting obligations for submission to the Audit Committee through the CAE.</li>
<li>Conducts special assignments at the request of the president, developing recommendations to enhance college systems, processes, and internal controls for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Investigates allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse in coordination with the TBR Office of System-wide Internal Audit and reports findings to the TBR Audit Committee with recommendations for corrective actions. Coordinates audit-related activities with external auditors, including the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, and fosters effective working relationships with college personnel, TBR staff, system-wide internal audit professionals, and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Plans and manages the internal audit budget to support institutional strategic goals and objectives. Maintains required professional certifications and participates in continuing professional education to ensure compliance with IIA standards and role-specific requirements.</li>
<li>Participates in TBR Internal Audit Directors meetings, serves on college and system-wide committees as assigned, and develops and executes a documented Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) in compliance with professional standards.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, compliance efforts, and operational effectiveness of the college and the TBR internal audit function.</li>

Title: Instructor, Accounting - 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Accounting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Maintain and submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting Topics and a current CPA license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Documented experience teaching at the college level.

Documented experience teaching Accounting courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.

Title: Adjunct Instructor - Accounting (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online and hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabus prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email account and department mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on weekends. Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, student progress reports, grade submissions, and administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

Title:&nbsp;Temporary – Accounting and Finance Administrative Staff (Pool) POSITION SUMMARY Provides general accounting and professional support in the Finance &amp; Accounting, Budget and Bursar offices ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of complex administrative functions related to accounting operations. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s financial statements. Manages accounts payable transactions. Researches and resolves complex questions/issues regarding various accounting topics for the College. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s budget statements, with day-to-day operations within the Bursar’s office, and with grant management, invoicing, and reconciliations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university Five (5) years of professional-level accounting experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified Public Accountant licensure Experience working in a higher education environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to interpret College policies and procedures, Tennessee Board of Regents’ policies, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.&nbsp; Must demonstrate advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and the internet. Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp;
Minimum of Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework focusing on teaching discipline.
