ResponsibilitiesThe Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program, in our Howmet Wheel Systems (HWS) business unit, will include engaging and impactful project or projects, lunch &amp; learns presented by organizational leaders, tours of our manufacturing plants &amp; processes, networking opportunities, volunteering in the local community, and fun social activities to connect with fellow interns.&nbsp;Interns will&nbsp;work 40 hours a week and&nbsp;are&nbsp;paid. The internship is approximately&nbsp;12 weeks.Responsibilities include:Assigned projects will focus on&nbsp;maintenance reliability, as well as other areas within a heavy manufacturing&nbsp;environment. &nbsp;Projects will give a realistic view into the requirements of an operations professional in the manufacturing industry.QualificationsQualitifications for Candidates:<ul> <li>3.0 GPA and above.</li> <li>Must be involved in at least 1 extracurricular activity or prior work experience.</li> <li>Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar,&nbsp;with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.</li> <li>Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. ResponsibilitiesSummary: Howmet Structure Systems has an immediate opening for an Electrician located at our Canton facility. This position is responsible for installation and repair of electrical systems, devices and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Howmet Aerospace is transforming the next phase of more fuel-efficient, quieter aerospace engines and sustainable ground transportation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of an Electrician.<ul> <li>Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.</li> <li>Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.</li> <li>Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.</li> <li>Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other appropriate personnel to diagnose malfunction.</li> <li>Troubleshoot PLC programming as well as various communication formats.</li> <li>Replaces faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and sensors.</li> <li>Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty components such as printed circuit boards.</li> <li>Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.</li> <li>Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical devices in buildings.</li> <li>Work with 480V 3 Phase electricity as well as high voltage up to 138KV.</li> <li>Knowledgeable of the National Electric Code and OSHA regulations and NFPA regulations regarding arc flash.</li> <li>May need to install/remove non-electrical components while working on a specific issue.</li> <li>Must be flexible with work schedule, must be willing to be on call, work weekends and overtime as needed.</li> <li>Provide support and offer guidance to cross-functional team members</li> <li>Adhere to all standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with all safety and quality processes.</li></ul>QualificationsBasis Qualifications:<ul> <li>Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>High voltage work and maintenance.</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as technical procedures, governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, drawings, and blueprints.</li> <li>Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.</li> <li>Ability to apply common sense to carry out/interpret instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.</li> <li>Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.</li> <li>Ability to keep an open mind, think out of the box and demonstrate a desire for continuous improvement.</li> <li>Demonstrate excellent communication skills with both management and operators.</li> <li>Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.</li> <li>Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
