Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Work with the student-athlete, coaches and medical professionals in the analysis, diagnosis, referral, treatment, rehabilitation, and the return to practice for student-athletes</li>
<li>Participate in preseason team meetings for all sports</li>
<li>Maintain medical records of all student-athletes, including but not limited to injuries, treatments, referrals, physical examinations, rehab attendance and progress</li>
<li>Be present and observe practices and competitions (Some travel is required)</li>
<li>Provide emergency treatments as needed</li>
<li>Establish a collegial relationship with other trainers within in the conference</li>
<li>Communicate positively and effectively with all stakeholders</li>
<li>Alert coaches when student-athletes do not adhere to prescribed rehab directives in a timely manner and/or when they are being released to return to practice and competition</li>
<li>Supervise and maintain a sanitary training room area with proper working equipment</li>
<li>Design research-based training, treatment, and rehab programs for student-athletes (SMART)</li>
<li>Refer and arrange transportation to external medical providers with the assistance of coaches</li>
<li>Supervise interns and work study students when applicable</li>
<li>Handle clerical tasks as they relate to scheduling physicals and appointments, but not limited to maintaining inventory, equipment repair and replenishing supplies</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with the Athletic Administrators and perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director</li>

Minimum Qualifications

The adjunct instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in professional activities and organizations.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Funeral Service Education program.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.&nbsp;</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Associate degree in Funeral Service Education and graduation from an American Board of Funeral Service Education accredited program. Must hold Tennessee Funeral Director and Embalmer licenses.</li>
<li>Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.</li>
<li>Two (2) years as a professional in Funeral Service, and two (2) years related experience.</li>
<li>Two (2) years of teaching experience.</li>
<li>Use observational, oral, and /or written assessment to direct and enhance learning in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new content.</li>
<li>Use current and emerging technologies and alternative delivery methods to enhance student learning.</li>
<li>Demonstrate commitment to professional development.</li>
<li>Observe college policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Must provide instruction for all Funeral Service Education (FSED) courses.</li>
<li>A background check will be required for the successful candidate.</li>

<ul>
<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an ever-growing student population.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.</li>
<li>Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Willingness and flexibility to teach classes using various instructional delivery methods at any of the six locations.</li>
</ul>
