Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age. Three years of experience as a police officer with a satisfactory service rating by a superior. Graduate of an accredited, approved police academy and be a certified police officer meeting all the requirements for P.O.S.T certification in Tennessee. Meet the requirements of TCA 38-8-106 and TCA 38-8-107 Qualifications of Police Officers. Out-of-state applicants are required to meet Tennessee P.O.S.T certification requirements within six (6) months of hire. Prior law enforcement experience as a full-time certified officer must be within the past three (3) years. Must have not been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances. Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Teach courses via on ground as assigned. Teach evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Complete required College trainings and complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Program Chair or Dean at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class. Attend meetings as requested by the Program Chair and/or Dean. Comply with all the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Regularly check your JSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.</li>
<li>Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s degree in Health Science from an accredited institution and an active Health Science license.
Preferred Qualifications
Collegiate level teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay Rate: $600 per credit hour Closing Date: October 31, 2026 Availability/Closing Date: This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Full Time Evening Truck Driving Instructor
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a full time Truck Driving Instructor for the evening program at the Newbern Campus.
Minimum Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Candidates must have a high school diploma.</li>
<li>Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license in Tennessee with a minimum of three years of experience as an over-the-road driver with an exemplary record.</li>
<li>Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Must be able to organize and provide theoretical and practical instructional activities to enable students to obtain CDL.</li>
<li>Computer skills including general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>
<li>Skills in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment.</li>
<li>Teaching experience.&nbsp;Possess organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.&nbsp;Strong customer service skills.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
General Duties:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>The Truck Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching all phases of the program to include safety regulations, CDL regulations, traffic laws, road atlas, and highway routes, instruments and cab controls, engine and air brake systems, adverse weather condition driving techniques, hazardous materials transportation, clutch, gear and transmission patterns, coupling and uncoupling trailers, obstacle course and backing procedures, defensive driving, and over-the-road driving experiences.</li>
<li>Must maintain an active advisory board committee and communicate with business and industry partners on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Other duties include curriculum development and updates, student record keeping, student recruitment, placement and follow-up of program graduates, and program budgeting.</li>
</ul>

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
