Job Description Job Summary: The Audio Visual Lead is responsible for coordinating a range of advanced technical functions related to the setup, implementation, and design of media equipment and productions, including complex designs and large-scale events. The role includes supporting all learning formats by verifying the functionality of AV technology and ensuring that all users are trained and comfortable with its operation. Operating with little to no supervision, this position requires strong prioritization skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple conflicting deadlines.&nbsp;&nbsp;This position directly serves Division of Continuing Education (DCE) students, faculty and administrators for classrooms and events. It closely coordinates and consults with Academic Technology Support, Distance Education Production, Academic Services. Job-Specific Responsibilities: The role excels in proactive planning and management, both independently and interdepartmentally, for day-to-day operations and projects of varying scales. It is instrumental in developing innovative technical solutions for courses, programs and high-profile events, as well as maintaining the DCE AV systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and that all users are trained and comfortable with their operation. We employ diverse approaches, including gene expression analyses, lineage tracing, live imaging, and CRISPR-mediated gene manipulation to probe molecular and cellular mechanisms driving the development of molluscan brains and body plans, with the goal of revealing fundamental principles underlying the evolution of development. We are seeking a Research Assistant II to support our growing lab needs. 
Job-Specific Responsibilities: This position will report directly to the Principal Investigator and perform the following duties:<ul><li>Leads laboratory experiments utilizing standard techniques and equipment;</li><li>Collects data related to cephalopod embryology and genomics;</li><li>Handles animal care;</li><li>Performs microscopy and data analysis;</li><li>Performs general laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies;</li><li>May process orders or invoices, or undertake other duties under the direction of administrative personnel;</li><li>Other related duties as necessary.</li></ul>This position requires the individual to work occasional nights and/or weekends.

Physical Requirements: Minimal exposure to biohazardous chemicals. Occasional lifting of heavy objects (&lt;30 pounds). The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of prior experience working on interdisciplinary research and will have direct experience with confocal imaging, basic molecular biological tools, handling cephalopod or other marine embryos. The Program Manager, Risk and Compliance Services will also be responsible for supporting the establishment and implementation of the Institutional Compliance Program (IC Program), including involvement in the Institutional Risk Management (IRM) program which provides a structured process for identifying, assessing, prioritizing and managing risks across various levels of the University. Job Description The incumbent will lead and direct compliance and risk management activities/functions for the Harvard Graduate School of Education.&nbsp;Job-Specific Responsibilities: <ul><li>Oversees and manages the emerging research security program for HGSE, serving as the school’s Research Security Administrator with the lead role in directing, collaborating, and connecting across multiple offices and roles to ensure HGSE executes and remains in compliance with Harvard’s Research Security policy and procedures.&nbsp;Will consult with and maintain a dotted-line relationship with the University Research Compliance Officer for activities related to this role.</li><li>Oversees and coordinates all activities of the HGSE Export Controls (EC) program and serving as the school’s Export Control Officer, including communicating school-level information about EC and coordinating or conducting Visual Compliance checks as required on international partners school-wide.&nbsp;Supports faculty and staff in engaging with the HGSE Export Compliance Program as well as international reviews.&nbsp;Aid in the rollout of export control activities at HGSE under the University’s Research Security Program (above).&nbsp;Conduct compliance reviews to ensure that HGSE research and sponsored programs are compliant with applicable export control laws and regulations, sponsor terms and conditions, and University and GSE policy</li><li>Oversees and manages the HGSE outside activities disclosure process, in coordination with relevant staff within the Faculty Affairs, Finance, and Sponsored Projects departments, and the HGSE Designated Institutional Official.&nbsp; This encompasses the disclosure of outside activities and financial conflicts of interest for faculty, researchers, and others required to submit disclosures on an annual and/or ad-hoc basis.&nbsp;</li></ul>This will include:<ul><li>Attaining and maintaining an in-depth understanding of statutory regulations and university/school policies related to financial conflict of interest, outside activities disclosures, effort, and related areas.</li><li>Identification and verification of individuals required to disclose on a rolling basis.</li><li>Coordinating review of disclosures as needed, notably including the primary annual review of faculty disclosures.</li><li>Preparation, review, revision, and dissemination of reports, management plans, policy documents, and guidance as required and appropriate.</li><li>Ensuring all activities above are administered as required in Harvard’s relevant systems of record, including Outside and Activities Interest Reporting (OAIR) system and the Grants Management Application Suite (GMAS)</li><li>As needed, provide training/guidance to disclosers and others on use of the disclosure system.</li><li>Oversee and serve as lead administrator for the HGSE Committee on International Projects and Sites (CIPS), a faculty committee tasked with providing a school review of all international work proposed at HGSE, sponsored or non-sponsored. Incumbent will manage the work of CIPS, facilitate CIPS reviews, ensure communication to faculty about reviews is complete, and maintain documentation of CIPS reviews and meeting minutes.&nbsp; Acts as liaison to University-level offices as needed for certain reviews (e.g., Office for the Vice Provost for Research, University Committee on International Projects and Sites, etc.).&nbsp; Collaborate with the HGSE Office of Sponsored Projects as needed to ensure seamless coordination.</li><li>Manages the HGSE Risk Management program in support of the school’s Risk Officer.&nbsp; This includes annual reporting, coordinating, and facilitating meetings of the school risk committee, coordinating annual risk reviews and/or risk evaluation exercises.</li><li>Oversee foreign talent program reporting/compliance, and compliance with Foreign Gift and Contract Reporting (section 117).</li><li>Oversee the Payment card Industry (PCI) compliance process in collaboration with the school security officer, the Finance Department, and other GSE units.</li><li>Works with HGSE’s Research Integrity Officer (RIO) to gather data relating to research misconduct, including managing cases if they arise and maintaining up-to-date policies.</li><li>Provide guidance on questions relating to international collaborations and activities under sponsored awards.</li><li>Use knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and University/GSE guidelines and policies to provide advice to department customers, and provide a high level of customer service to each party;</li><li>&nbsp;Monitor regulatory changes and participate in working groups as necessary to create and maintain business processes and templates to facilitate compliance</li><li>Other duties as may be assigned</li></ul>Working Conditions: <ul><li>Work is performed in an office setting</li><li>HGSE is currently developing dynamic workplace models which will actively support a combination of on-campus and remote work (within a state in which Harvard is registered to do business) where business and operational needs allow.
