Job Description Our laboratory studies breast and ovarian cancer, striving to discover the mechanisms behind disease initiation, progression and drug resistance. We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformaticist with knowledge in computational image analysis and proficiency in Python. In this position, you will be supervised by our image analysis expert and will work together with members of the lab who are performing cyclic immunofluorescence (CyCIF) experiments. These experiments aim to better understand the earliest changes in the initiation of tumorigenesis as well as the heterogeneity of cell states and their spatial distribution within a tumor. CyCIF is applied to tissues from a diverse set of sources, including genetically engineered mice, patient-derived xenografts propagated in mice, tumor cell line xenografts, and patient samples. As a Bioinformaticist, your primary responsibility will be analyzing fluorescent imaging data to quantify the levels of protein expression in individual cells and ‘cell neighborhoods’. This will involve identifying the appropriate single cell segmentation approaches for each tissue type and apply them iteratively to acquire fluorescence signal intensities that can be used to perform spatial analyses. You will interpret initial results and carry out follow-up analyses, developing the necessary approaches and writing code for their execution, and training other RAs on the project in using developed code for new approaches for segmentation and analysis. You will communicate findings to the lead investigator of each project and, through collaborative discussions, determine which additional analyses need to be performed. This position provides an opportunity to make significant contributions to many projects in our lab.Technical Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Carry out image processing from tissue or tumor sections by registering and stitching images acquired on a Rarecyte microscope using a Python-based script as well as other approaches as they are developed.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform fluorescent image processing, quality control, and cell segmentation using multiple approaches: identify appropriate single cell segmentation approaches for each tissue type and apply them iteratively, checking accuracy to obtain single cell data.</li><li>Design, develop and test computational methods and displays to identify correlations between proteins expressed in single cells, to identify changes in protein expression in cells from tissues of women at high risk for cancer, and to identify differences in tumor responses to cancer therapies.&nbsp;</li><li>Using biological knowledge, identify candidate cell neighborhoods to define using cellular protein expression, then implement appropriate computational approaches to define these neighborhoods (e.g., Latent-Dirichlet Algorithm, network analysis, etc.).</li><li>Work with scRNASeq and spatial transcriptomics datasets, including probing gene signature expression and comparing expression between groups using correct statistical models (e.g., Linear Mixed Model, Bayesian).&nbsp;</li><li>Interpret initial results and carry out follow-up analyses, developing the necessary approaches and writing code for their execution; work with biologists on data analysis and with other bioinformaticists on the team to strategize computational approaches to execute follow-up analyses.&nbsp;</li><li>Communicate findings with project collaborators, and prepare figures and materials for presentations as needed.</li><li>Lead and train biologists and RAs on computational tools developed for segmentation and analysis.&nbsp;</li></ul> Qualifications Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or other related field required.</li><li>3+ years’ experience in the area of bioinformatics.&nbsp;</li></ul>

Job Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing, managing, troubleshooting, and documenting server resources, directory services, messaging services, network services, network applications, and security services. The Systems Administrator assists IT staff in providing advanced technical support for workstation hardware and software issues and support for database development, network connectivity issues, server operating system and configuration issues, and other support issues as they may arise.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, troubleshoot, patch, and document server resources and procedure such as server hardware, server operating systems, infrastructure storage, print queues, file shares on Windows and Linux platforms, power consumption and protection devices (uninterruptible power units), the data center’s physical infrastructure (racks, appliances, KVM, fiber switches, cabling), backup systems, and ~150 virtual servers (VMWare and Hyper‐V).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Create shell scripts (bash, PowerShell, PHP) to provide task automation and schedule tasks such as account provisioning and deprovisioning, notification of password expiration, creating mailboxes in Office 365, and manipulating Active Directory (such as moving large numbers of users between groups given a common characteristic and synchronizing AD with Banner).</li>
<li>Assist students and staff with technical issues.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and document messaging services, Barracuda anti‐spam system (blocks outbound SSN and credit card numbers, incoming viruses, and spam), and other Office 365 applications</li>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and document Active Directory Services (maintaining architecture, group policies, accounts, and security groups) for three sites (Lexington, Savannah, Trenton)</li>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and document security services (Intune management systems management, manage engine logging, SIEM and SOC management, Microsoft A5 security licensing management)</li>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and document the FortiGate firewall system (network routing, policies, antivirus, web filtering, intrusion prevention and detection services, application control [blocking applications such as peer to peer file sharing apps], and VPN [remote access to our network]), as well as assist with other networking issues</li>
<li>Design, install, configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, document, network appliances.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
• AS degree with 3-5 years of experience. • Bachelors in Computer Information Systems or related field with 1-3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• A working knowledge of desktop hardware and software, common operating systems such as Windows 11, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and WINS services. The person should have experience in managing server resources running Windows Server operating systems with Active Directory services and Linux operating systems. • Able to manage email services such as Microsoft Exchange and Office 365. • Able to write scripts using PowerShell and PHP, have experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL, and should be familiar with common networking technologies. • Familiar with hypervisors such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu or Red Hat • Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems, such as Windows 11, • Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022. • Knowledge of PowerShell, Bash and PHP scripting • Experience managing and supporting Active Directory (2012/2016/2022) • Experience managing and supporting Exchange Server and Office 365 (mail). • Knowledge of Database Systems such as MySQL, MS-SQL and Oracle • Experience with workstation and server hardware, printers, scanners, RAID, NAS, SAN, fiber connectivity, and disk-based backup systems. • Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V (server virtualization) • Knowledge of network technologies, connectivity devices (switches, firewalls), and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS and routing rules. • Experience with antivirus and antispam products • Knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Ability to quickly learn new technology through self-study or instructor-led training • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
