STUDENT MONITORING, DATA ANALYSIS, AND ENROLLMENT PROCESS (20%)

<li>Utilize multiple dashboards and reporting systems to monitor, track, and analyze data for admitted and enrolled students, ensuring early intervention and strategic communication.</li>
<li>Leverage data to proactively engage students using various outreach methods (email, text, social media, phone) to enhance enrollment, persistence, and academic success.</li>
<li>Oversee the admissions process, guiding students through program selection, transcript evaluation, and placement testing.</li>
<li>Support student retention by analyzing workforce trends and industry projections, aligning academic programs with career pathways.</li>
</ul>
CAREER COMMUNITY AND CAREER OUTLOOK ADVISING (15%)
<ul>
<li>Utilize labor market data platforms (i.e. Lightcast) to provide real-time insights, aligning academic program selection with high-demand career fields.</li>
<li>Interpret workforce trends, industry projections, and economic shifts to guide students toward sustainable employment opportunities.</li>
<li>Conduct career planning sessions that integrate salary expectations, regional job demand, and skill development strategies.</li>
<li>Assist in developing institutional reports that assess student career outcomes and program effectiveness.</li>
<li>Participate in targeted initiatives within a specialized career community, offering expert-level support. Actively participate in specialized activities, leveraging knowledge of specific academic disciplines.</li>
</ul>
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (5%)

JOB LOCATION
This role is an on-site position primarily located on the McMinn Higher Education Center campus of Cleveland State Community College in Athens, TN. Travel may be required within the college’s five-county service area including travel for statewide meetings, national conferences, etc.&nbsp;

FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville is accepting applications for a Welding Technology Instructor position. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and located at the Main Campus, 2905 US 231 North, Shelbyville, TN.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Provide individualized classroom and lab instruction to high school and adult students to prepare them for careers in welding.</li>
<li>Demonstrate and explain welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OFC, and PAC) in classroom and lab settings.</li>
<li>Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.</li>
<li>Assist in recruitment and placement of students.</li>
<li>Maintain good public relations with business and industry and maintain an active advisory board.</li>
</ul>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent (HiSET acceptable).</li>
<li>Postsecondary diploma or A.A.S. in Welding or related field preferred.</li>
<li>AWS Certification Level I or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.</li>
<li>3+ years of approved work experience in the welding occupation:
<ul>
<li>Experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, OFC, and PAC using various materials.</li>
<li>Fabrication and blueprint reading experience.</li>
<li>Technical teaching experience a plus.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Proficient in the principles and practices of the welding industry.</li>
<li>Skilled in using industry-standard tools and equipment.</li>
<li>Capable of teaching students tool use, layout interpretation, and blueprint reading for fabrication.</li>
<li>Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other common software programs.</li>
<li>Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills for effective teaching.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with high school and adult learners and to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, faculty, industry partners, and the public.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy a plus.</li>
<li>Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and move around the teaching area to demonstrate and perform occupational tasks (with or without accommodation).</li>
<li>OSHA 10 certification preferred.</li>
</ul>
