General Duties:

GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; The Evening Industrial Electricity Instructor is responsible for providing&nbsp;
individualized classroom and lab instruction to students. The Instructor must monitor, grade, and&nbsp;
evaluate individual students’ progress, maintain student records in the college’s student records&nbsp;
management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports. The instructor&nbsp;
must also maintain good public relations with related business and industry, assist with advisory&nbsp;
committee duties, cooperate with outside agencies and supervise and follow-up on students&nbsp;
participating in cooperative education.
&nbsp;
Other duties include participation in curriculum development, student recordkeeping, and student&nbsp;
recruitment, placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development&nbsp;
activities, and participation in student organizations. Some travel is required.

Roane State Community College is inviting applications for qualified candidates for a full time faculty position in our Mechatronics Program. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Mechatronics classes including introductory classes in electrical circuits, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), as well as advanced classes in statics/dynamics, robotics, PLCs, and automated production technologies. Classes are taught both in daytime and evening classes at our Clinton Facility and at the Harriman Campus. Some classes may be located at area high schools.

Job Duties

An Associate degree in these fields in conjunction with relevant professional experience is also acceptable.

Teaching experience in manufacturing technology-related programs. Teaching experience in post-secondary education programs. Master’s degree in suitable engineering discipline. Computer skills including familiarity with Desire2Learn (or other course management software), schematic design software, Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs. Southwest Tennessee Community College aims to employ part-time instructional supporters/tutors to provide learning support, course reinforcement, and coaching to students in one or more of the qualified subject areas. Part-time instruction supporters/tutors will provide tutoring sessions and/or perform front desk duties. Supplemental instruction is a non-traditional method of tutoring that provides group study support outside the classroom through discrete study sessions to supplement the in-class lessons. Part-time instruction supporters/tutors are responsible for attending all lectures for their assigned class(es) and providing two 1-hour study sessions per week. Peer supplemental instruction leaders/tutors will also serve as role models for other Southwest students.
