TCAT Shelbyville is working to build a pool of substitute/part-time temporary instructors to support our various programs. DIRECT SUPERVISON FROM: VP of Academics and Compliance
SUMMARY
The instructor will be responsible for the effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. Lesson plans, assignments, and instructions will be provided and used as a guideline to lead student activities. The instructor will oversee student conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise with the VP of Academics and Compliance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Clinical Nursing Applicants

      TLC Tutor (Pool)
    

This is a full-time, academic year, term contract in Computer Information Technology. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies.
&nbsp;
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in Computer Information Technology, including networking, security, and operating systems, with a focus on CCNA certification preparation. The courses may be delivered using a variety of methods including traditional, online, hybrid and/or two/three-way technology.
• Serve as the Computer Information Technology Program Coordinator.
• Manage and maintain the advisory committee for the program.
• Maintain CIT – Networking programmatic accreditation.
• Promote and assist with DSCC’s eSports team.
• Initial assignment may be one or two of DSCC’s teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester dependent on demand.
• Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
• Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
• Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
• Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).
• Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research-based learning strategies including service-learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skills, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.
• Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs, online, Zoom, and/or remote location.
• Develop cooperative education opportunities for students that provide capstone experiences for the program.
• Revise and develop curriculum and select course instructional materials (which may include electronic materials, open educational resources, traditional textbooks, etc.) in cooperation with colleagues. Provide course materials and information in a format that is accessible for all students.
• Become certified in and fully use the course management system for all classes.
• Work with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of courses, analyze the results, develop and implement improvement plans, and document this information each semester in the form prescribed by DSCC.
• Participate in professional development and maintain membership in an appropriate regional, state and/or national organization related to your teaching at DSCC.
• Assist with the identification and mentoring of adjunct instructors.
• Assist in the preparation of course semester/term schedules based on community needs and data trends.

Job Summary
Roane State Community College is seeking qualified applications for a Tenure track position in Mathematics. Qualified candidates will be expected to provide quality instruction in all levels of mathematics. Job Duties

<li>Teach mathematics lectures as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus. Assigned classes may include traditional face-to-face, dual enrollment, two-way live video (zoom room), web-based, synchronous or online settings. Provide service to the college by being actively involved in the math contest, academic festival, college fairs, and other assigned events. Engage in ongoing professional development through action-research projects, grant development, and conference participation. Respond promptly to requests from the Dean’s office. Teach 15 hours of lecture and labs per semester. The ability to teach during the summer may or may not be offered. Post and maintain office hours which provide adequate time for academic advisement with students and out-of-class meetings with students and colleagues. Advise students about academic and career goals. Serve on assigned college committees. Attend faculty, division, departmental and other meetings as required. Attend and participate in convocation. Collaborate with mathematics faculty, curriculum chair, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs. Travel to multiple campuses as assigned. Use of technology in support of student learning is expected.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
Hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics.       Adjunct Instructor – Chemistry
    

Title: Instructor, English 9/10 month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in English in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments primarily at the White Bridge and North Davidson campuses. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in-person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy. Work with Course Leads, Department Chair, and Dean to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide accurate and updated course materials to students. Submit updated and accurate syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, except on the weekend.
Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success. Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Actively participate on committees within the Department of English and Reading, the School of Arts and Humanities, and college-wide committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. May perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in English, English Composition, Writing, or Literature; or
Master’s degree in another discipline and at least 18 graduate semester hours in English, English Composition, Writing, or Literature; or
MFA in Creative Writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Documented experience teaching at the college level.
