Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of High School Programs, the Health Professions Jump Start Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to recruit, mentor, and enhance the retention and success of high school students enrolled in Health Professions Jump Start pathway by providing ongoing advising and navigation services. They lead all activities specific to the Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant as well as act as an advisor and navigator to improve strategies in retention, transfer, and success.
Job Duties
&nbsp;• Assist with scheduling Health Professions Jump Start classes, including planning, marketing, registration, and evaluation visits with participating high schools, working with appropriate internal and external stakeholders; for example, principals, counselors, parents, and NeSCC deans.
• Oversee all Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant-related activities and budget, including event and camp planning.
• Work with the College’s staff to complete required grant reporting activities.
• Deliver ongoing advisement and support for Johnson and Unicoi Country dual enrollment students to include assistance in developing individual class schedules, answering Jump Start program questions, and providing referrals to appropriate student and academic support services as needed.
• Assist with Accuplacer testing for dual enrollment students as a prerequisite for enrollment in general education classes required as part of the Health Professions Jump Start program of study.
• Collect supporting documentation needed for the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant.
• Track data on Health Professions Jump Start students and maintain records for Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant reporting purposes.
• Provide proactive navigation and individualized coaching for Health Professions Jump Start student population, including assisting students in developing skills to access resources to support academic and career success.
• Collaborate with the High School Program team and related campus offices to coordinate events that foster career exploration.
• Develop and implement strategies to retain Health Professions Jump Start students and ease their transition into the community college setting.
• Serve on appropriate committees and advisory councils to expand Health Professions access and awareness.
• Provide support in analyzing grant performance indicators and developing effective strategies for improving outcomes.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • One year of professional experience working with at-risk student populations, providing either student support services, case management, teaching, or tutoring. • Demonstrated experience with record keeping and data collection. 
Preferred Qualifications

Job Summary
Reporting to the Tutor Coordinator, tutors are responsible for tutoring project participants and for attending tutor meetings, program workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Provide tutorial assistance as assigned.</li>
<li>Assist participants in the development of study skills necessary for successful completion of courses so that students are retained, graduated and/or transferred.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and current documentation concerning participant contact and progress.</li>
<li>Maintain contact with SS staff as required.</li>
<li>Refer participants to Student Support Services staff for information or assistance with issues such as academic, transfer and career advisement, and problem-solving.</li>
<li>Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times.</li>
<li>Tutor in designated areas for designated time periods.</li>
<li>Keep all information confidential.</li>
<li>Initiate contact with appropriate faculty members at least once per semester.</li>
<li>Participate in training as required (in the form of sessions, individual study, etc.).</li>
<li>Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
Peer Tutors:
<ul>
<li>Completion of at least one semester of college or dual-enrolled at Northeast State or other institution.</li>
<li>A minimum GPA of 3.0.</li>
<li>A grade of “A” or “B” in each course to be tutored.</li>
<li>Recommendations from at least two instructors.</li>
</ul>
Advanced Tutors:
<ul>
<li>Completion of Associate degree or higher at an accredited institution with a final GPA of at least 3.0 and grade of “A” or “B” in subjects to be tutored if applicable; OR acceptance as adjunct faculty at Northeast State or prior tutoring experience for Student Support Services with all documentation on file.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator of The Learning Center, the Tutor/Lab Assistant is responsible for providing tutoring services to Northeast State students.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Successfully complete all required tutor training and/or professional development.</li>
<li>Provide tutoring in content areas to students one-on-one or in small groups.</li>
<li>Help students implement successful learning strategies and study habits.</li>
<li>Assist in scheduling students for tutoring/other services.</li>
<li>Compile, maintain, and submit documentation of services provided.</li>
<li>Create/compile study and/or workshop materials.</li>
<li>Present workshops, as requested, online and/or on campus.</li>
<li>Promote and/or participate in collaborative efforts with other tutors and students.</li>
<li>Display responsible, courteous, and professional behavior in all duties and in all interactions with students and staff.</li>
<li>Support academic success and retention efforts and programs</li>
<li>Provide TLC information and general assistance to students, especially with technology issues, directing them to other appropriate offices on campus, if needed.</li>
<li>Communicate any issues, needs, or concerns to center coordinator.</li>
<li>Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.</li>
