<br><h4>Overview</h4><p>LMI is seeking a skilled&nbsp;<strong>Software Development Engineer</strong>&nbsp;at our office in Colorado Springs, CO. Founded in 1961 to help the Department of Defense resolve complex logistics management challenges, LMI continues to enable growth and transformation, enhance operational readiness and resiliency, and ensure mission success for federal civilian and defense agencies.</p><h4>Responsibilities</h4><p>The qualified applicant will support United States Space Command with development of model and simulation software to analyze United States Space Command initial capabilities documents, validate operation plan courses of action, and support development of exercises and wargames.&nbsp; The applicant will work with USSPACECOM Joint Directorate team members to understand customer requirements in which they will operate to be able to assess the development requirements needed to facilitate LMI operation analyst model and simulation development, using the existing RAPTR tool. In addition, the applicant may be required to develop new tools to assist in analysis and development.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h4>Qualifications</h4><p><strong>MINIMUM</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 – 15 years of professional experience or master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 – 13 years of professional experience.&nbsp; May substitute educational degree for experience.</li><li>Space domain operations experience and understanding in multiple areas of: astrodynamics; orbital mechanics; rendezvous and proximity operations; satellite communications; missile warning/missile defense; space-based positioning, navigation and timing; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; command and control; battle management; and space domain awareness</li><li>Relevant joint space warfighting experience in an operational, science and technology, or operational test organization</li><li>Exposure to modeling, simulation, and analysis tools</li><li>Proven track record of engaging with customers, product users, and coworkers to create innovative solutions to complex problems.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.</li><li>Possess a natural curiosity and desire to challenge yourself and those around you.</li><li>Ability to brief USSPACECOM senior leaders on your development efforts.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>This position requires an active security clearance at the Top Secret level, with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility.&nbsp; You must be a US Citizen.</li></ul><p><strong>DESIRED</strong></p><ul><li>Prior experience working in a Joint Environment or Combatant Command.</li><li>Graduate of Space 100, 200, or 300.</li><li>Ability to code in relevant language (Python preferred, MATLAB acceptable) to support modeling, simulation and data analytics.</li><li>Experience with database languages (MongoDB preferred).</li><li>Planning or participating in joint military utility assessments.</li><li>Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML).</li><li>Experience using Scrum.</li><li>Experience using Model Based System Engineering software (Cameo Systems Modeler preferred)</li><li>Experience using orbital analysis visualization tools, such as Systems ToolKit, FreeFlyer, Space Domain Characterization and Control System</li></ul><p>Target salary range: $94,000 - $164,000.
