This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, guiding plant teams of controls engineers and collaborating with cross-functional departments to drive automation excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead the development and implementation of advanced control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.</li><li>Provide oversight and mentorship for Plant teams of controls engineers/technicians, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.</li><li>Architect scalable automation solutions using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networking technologies.</li><li>Identify and Lead individual improvement projects</li><li>Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for controls-related initiatives.</li><li>Ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with Multiple site operations, maintenance, and IT teams to integrate control systems with MES and ERP platforms.</li><li>Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending strategic upgrades.</li><li>Direct the Development of and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, including system architecture, programming standards, and troubleshooting guides.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering with Control Systems Engineering experience</li><li>5+ years of experience in control systems engineering in a continuous manufacturing environment.</li><li>Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens), HMI/SCADA development, and industrial communication protocols.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale capital projects from concept through execution to include leading cross-functional engineering projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of control theory, system integration, and safety systems (e.g., SIL, NFPA 79).</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license.</li><li>Experience with robotics, motion control, and vision systems.</li><li>Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 principles.</li><li>Certifications such as PMP, CCST, or ISA Certified Automation Professional.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Office and manufacturing floor environments.</li><li>20-30% percent travel for project implementation and vendor coordination.</li></ul>Please Keep in Mind If you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you. CLEVELAND STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE is accepting applications for the following position: Adjunct Faculty Pool - Engineering
Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp; Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in Engineering, OR Master’s Degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in Engineering with other closely related major.&nbsp; Three years teaching experience is preferred.&nbsp; Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes recommended – hybrid, on ground, and online.&nbsp;&nbsp;
