JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs administrative duties related to the transportation operations. Ensure the department has the necessary materials and equipment ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Works in administrative capacity within the transportation department. • Answers phone, distributes driver pouches, and works with team to ensure all routes are ready for drivers throughout the day. • Organizes the delivery documentation that is returned by the drivers after each delivery. • Sorts, files, and scans applicable documentation. • Supports transportation team with various administrative duties. • Other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED. • 1 year of similar work experience required • Experience with Microsoft products • Understanding of geography and logistics. The Yard Driver is responsible for providing support for trailer movement at the distribution center, as well as assisting preparation of trailers for shipping and monitoring the status of loaded trailers. Benefits you can count on: <ul><li>Pay Rate: Yard Drivers make $23.10 per hour.</li><li>Generous benefits that start on your 60th day: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA and company-paid life insurance.</li><li>Earn vacation time, and sick leave accrual from day one and paid holidays after 90 days.</li><li>401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.</li><li>Additional benefits: pet insurance, parental leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!</li></ul> What you'll do as a Yard Driver: <ul><li>Drive tractor, maneuvering into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.</li><li>Clean and spot trailers to specified doors or lot locations.</li><li>Inspect trailers for defects, pre/post trip and submit inspection report indicating condition.</li><li>Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product and that refrigeration unit is functioning; report any issues to Operations Manager or Warehouse Lead.</li><li>Drive tractor-trailer within yard or within short distances outside of yard, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering on the road and on Company premises.</li><li>Meet this position's physical demands.</li><li>Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products that may be ordered by our customers.</li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Yard Driver Teammate: <ul><li>Have a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.</li><li>Have 2 years related driving experience is desired.</li><li>Have 100,000-mile tractor-trailer experience is desired.</li><li>Possess Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) required.</li><li>Be accident-free driving record for the past three years desired.</li><li>Be able to read and comprehend labels, instructions, bill of lading required.</li><li>Be able to perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product required. </li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
