Position PurposeHead of Manufacturing Engineering for JCB Manufacturing Inc, North America, based in our Savannah GA plant.&nbsp; <h4>Major Tasks, Responsibilities &amp; Key Accountabilities</h4><ul><li>Ownership of the Manufacturing Engineering department driving Safety, Productivity and Quality improvements through Material Flow, Fabrication, Weld &amp; Machining, Paint, Sub-Assembly and Mainline Assembly.</li><li>Leadership, coaching and mentorship of the Manufacturing Engineering team.</li><li>An Operational lead for ‘PRIME ‘&amp; “PACE’ cost-down objectives.</li><li>Support safe working methods, ergonomic improvements and other EHS initiatives as required.</li><li>Ownership of ‘Operational Readiness’, ensuring ‘Design for Manufacture’ is the foundation for all New Product Introduction projects.</li><li>Ensure Process FMEAs, control plans, and work instructions are completed in a timely manner.</li><li>Revolution of current work instructions (SOP’s) for shop floor associates aligned to the JCB Production System.</li><li>Implementation of OES systems throughout manufacturing.</li><li>Owns the Capital Expenditure budget &amp; forecast to deliver Productivity &amp; NPI, optimizing plant capacity, driving Automation and eliminating product/process waste.</li><li>Man Eng Advisor for a new $500m Manufacturing plant based in San Antonio, TX </li></ul> <h4>Nature &amp; Scope</h4>Reports to Vice President Operations. <h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Must pass applicable drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering preferred</li><li>5+ years of manufacturing experience in processes and planning management.</li></ul> <h4>Preferred Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Master’s Degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering preferred</li><li>7+ years of manufacturing in a similar industry&nbsp; </li></ul> <h4>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities &amp; Competencies</h4><ul><li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes</li><li>Effective customer service and communication skills</li><li>Able to use strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Sound analytical skills with a practical balance of “shop floor” experience</li><li>Self-motivated and self-directed</li><li>Able to work effectively in a team environment through delegation</li><li>Ability to beflexible in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required</li></ul>Job Conditions<ul><li>Both office environment and manufacturing/factory environment</li><li>Subject to noise and temperature changes</li></ul>Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
