Facilities Construction and HVAC Engineer

Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Engineering Systems Technology adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes. This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty appointment reporting to the department chair of Engineering Technologies. This faculty position will support the Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology programs. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities (developing and preparing curricula and instructional material; delivering lectures; initiating, facilitating and moderating class discussions to students on topics in electrical engineering technology and computer engineering technology). Job Duties

<li>Prepares and delivers instruction to students on topics in electrical and computer engineering technology, including digital circuits, dc and ac circuits, electronics, digital industrial control systems, power technology, robotics, programmable logic controllers, microcontrollers, digital communication systems, and computer networks.</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts; writes student laboratory exercises and conducts student laboratory sessions for courses taught.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' coursework, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of course work.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom (tutoring), assists in the planning and implementation of the continuous quality improvement plan at the department and program levels.</li>
