ResponsibilitiesThe Tooling Engineer position is responsible for coordinating new and replacement tool builds involving core dies, fixtures, and auxiliary tooling used in the manufacture of ceramic cores for the investment casting process. This NPI Project Engineer position will be located in the Morristown, TN core facility and will be involved in new product introductions and dedicated to providing the best core (visual, dimensional) to the next operation (wax injection) through tooling and process development, having strong interactions with product engineers, tool build and maintenance resources, material process owners and shop floor resources. Primary Responsibilities: <ul><li>Manage and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative ensuring ceramic core development in accordance with overall project timelines, budget, and quoted standards.</li><li>Lead initiatives to achieve product yield improvements, variation reduction, and achieve cost reduction goals related to the manufacture of ceramic cores/parts.</li><li>Direct and manage the activities regarding product tool/part designs and standards.</li><li>Support the evaluation and implementation of cost and product improvements and drive problem solving activities.</li><li>Establish professional working relationships with the engineering team at each casting facility and promote effective communication regarding product status and issues.</li><li>Provide guidance and mentoring NPI core engineers in the department while also providing support as a resource for other departments and generic improvement activities.</li><li>Develops scrap and labor costs for cost modeling.&nbsp;Defines, solicits and reviews quotes for tooling and cores.</li><li>Defines and implements control plans and FMEA per customer requirements; Collects, analyzes and prepares statistical data per control plan.</li><li>Initiates, prepares and validates dimensional qualification packages to meet customer requirements.</li><li>Plans and formulates new product introduction engineering programs within area of assigned responsibility.</li><li>Implements and reviews part, tooling and process design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications.</li><li>Supports activities concerned with technical development, customer issues, cost reduction programs and in resolving engineering design and test problems.</li><li>Prepares interim and completion project report, as necessary.</li><li>Interfaces with production personnel regarding all processing requirements.&nbsp; Interacts with suppliers and customers on technical issues.</li><li>Performs process quality investigations, as required.</li><li>Develops and implements process improvements and cost reductions.</li><li>Designs tools and fixtures pertinent to processing.</li><li>Generates material requisitions to initiate procurement.</li><li>Translates customer requirements into usable work instructions, interfaces with the casting plant on technical issues.</li><li>Assembles data packages (PM301) for casting engineer approval.</li><li>Specifies processing and generates work instructions.</li><li>Actively pursues elimination of waste, the improvement of equipment reliability and efficiency, and the reduction of operating costs.&nbsp; Employs statistical methods as necessary.</li><li>Continuously improves the performance of job-related responsibilities.</li><li>Responsible for coordinating and developing stable, high yielding processes.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.&nbsp;</li><li>At least one year experience as a ceramic core engineer in the investment casting industry.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.</li><li>Ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD models.</li><li>Strong organizational skills.</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Job Title: Adjunct Instructor of Engineering Technology
Campus Location:&nbsp;Sevier Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;Expected to teach Associate of Applied Science- level Engineering Technology classes and laboratories. This position’s primary area of responsibility will be the Engineering Systems Technology degree, and requires experience in at least two of the following four primary area: Mechanical systems, Computer aided drafting, Machining and inspection, and Operations management. Also, will perform minor repairs and periodic maintenance on equipment assigned to the Engineering Technology Programs.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Provide instruction and training in the Engineering Systems Technology program and its disciplines. Instruction will cover, but is not limited to, mechanical systems, computer aided design, and manual and CNC machining and operations management.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and processes relative to engineering technology.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Share responsibility for day-to-day operation and routine upkeep of classrooms, labs, and equipment.&nbsp;</li>

Required Qualifications:

<li>Teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level or documented experience as a professional industrial trainer specifically in electrical and electronic applications.
