JOB SUMMARY Primary owner of Winsted Special Processes (heat treat, welding, EDM, airflow, and shot peen) and equipment and conformance to customer requirements.&nbsp; Maintain up-to-date accreditation (PW, AMS, BSI, GE NADCAP) JOB FUNCTIONS <ul><li>Develop processes for all Special Processes (heat treat, welding, EDM, airflow, and shot peen) to conform to customer requirements.</li><li>Ensuring the Special processes are performed in compliance with the methods, materials and equipment specifications as required for NADCAP Certification and as detailed in the BU manual, business operation, and customer requirements.</li><li>Approve all new and revised instructions in the Special Process areas.</li><li>Responsible for determination of the root cause of any deviation from critical process specifications and provide technical support to Process Engineering to resolve related issues.</li><li>Responsible for reporting the critical process status on daily and monthly basis to the Heat Treat Business Unit Process Owner.</li><li>Responsible for understanding downstream product quality as it relates to Special Processes and react appropriately to observed conditions.</li><li>Institute proper project monitoring, follow up and feedback system to ensure financial and contract targets are met (yields, rework).</li><li>Foster continuous improvement utilizing process management designed experiments, IPM and SPC, Cpk.</li><li>Demonstrates considerable ingenuity and creativity while recognizing prudent risk.</li><li>As a recognized expert in the Heat Treat process technology area, provide technical guidance to management and peers in areas of current or potential needs of the plant.</li><li>Routinely review process for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of approved process. Evaluate and document process changes, obtaining customer or engineering approval when required.</li><li>Responsible for determination of the root cause and corrective action for any deviation from critical process specifications and disposition of product</li><li>Work with facilities and finance departments to plan and execute projects, including capital improvements</li><li>Educate operators about the process and proper procedures, including creating/revising work instructions and training materials</li></ul> JOB QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications&nbsp; <ul><li>5 plus years experience as a Heat Treat Process owner.</li><li>BS in Materials Science, Metallurgical, Electrical, Mechanical, Ceramic, or Chemical Engineering&nbsp;</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Knowledge of vacuum systems, PLC, vacuum heat treat furnaces</li><li>Knowledge of MS Office, excellent written and oral communication skills, able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organization skills.</li><li>Working knowledge of statistical analysis and SPC</li><li>Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Howmet Process Management a plus.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li></ul> This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
