Job Summary
The Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, upkeep, and safety of campus facilities and outdoor spaces. This role ensures that buildings, classrooms, and common areas are well-maintained, while also managing the care of landscaping and exterior grounds. The supervisor provides hands-on leadership to maintenance and grounds staff, coordinates work schedules, and ensures compliance with safety standards and college policies.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and service providers for specialized repair or construction projects.</li>
<li>Schedule and assign daily work orders and preventive maintenance activities using the college’s work order system.</li>
<li>Supervise and participate in the work of maintenance staff performing general building repairs, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry tasks.</li>
<li>Inspects buildings, equipment and grounds to determine maintenance/repair needs; manages and prioritizes work orders.</li>
<li>Assigns, trains, supervises and evaluates other maintenance and grounds workers.</li>
<li>Keeps supply records and forecasts material needs; orders/maintains equipment, materials and supplies.</li>
<li>Performs general facilities maintenance tasks including:

<li>Serve as primary contact after hours or weekend maintenance emergencies.</li>
<li>Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.</li>

<li>Must be available for afterhours and weekend emergency calls as needed (e.g. during inclement weather to get campus ready for faculty/staff and students to return, etc.).</li>

Minimum Qualifications
• 5 or more years facilities maintenance experience with 2 or more years supervisory experience required. • Experience in general building, equipment, and grounds maintenance. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Valid state driver’s license required.

Previous experience in college setting.

Job Summary

Job Duties

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in preventive and general maintenance, custodial duties, and grounds-keeping, along with familiarity with proper sanitation, maintenance, and safety protocols relevant to the role. Reading comprehension skills are necessary for understanding safety data sheets, operating instructions, and equipment manuals. The candidate should be able to follow written and oral instructions accurately and demonstrate a mature attitude with a reliable and dependable work ethic. Communication skills are essential for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues. Basic computer skills and a valid Tennessee driver's license with the ability to drive are also necessary.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions 
The Facilities Support Associate will work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, stooping, and climbing. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require repetitive movements. Additionally, the position involves navigating campus environments, which include walking up and down stairs and traversing uneven surfaces. During inclement weather, the role will also involve cleaning and salting outdoor areas to ensure safety. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and noise from equipment is expected. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines, between $27,130 - $32,813.

Assist EH&amp;S Manager in removing bio-hazard waste and storing for proper disposal. Assist EH&amp;S Manager in all campus emergency drills.
10% Set-up tables and PSCC display on and off campus for special functions.
10% Performs various custodial tasks.
