Communicate safe and correct use of tools to others.</li><li>Team leadership and supervisory skills will be essential requirements of the role.</li><li>Carry out an efficient maintenance and repair service to ensure optimal availability of key process dependent plant.</li><li>Supervise the maintenance fault analysis recertification and testing of electrical instrumentation and systems-based equipment.</li><li>Work as a team to keep process operational.</li><li>Assign and direct the duties of mechanics, craftsmen, electricians etc.</li><li>Perform planned preventative maintenance of equipment.</li><li>Supervise to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.</li><li>The Chief Mechanic will be required to comply with all Health and Safety procedures and to ensure the team under his/her supervision also complies with these procedures.&nbsp;Needs a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the treatment processes and the&nbsp;maintenance required for mechanical and electrical equipment that is necessary to maintain compliance with the treatment objectives of the facility.</li><li>Full knowledge of safety practices used in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and in the general performance of all duties.</li><li>Ability to direct and oversee the operation of equipment for maintenance purposes in the wastewater treatment facility.</li><li>Ability to supervise maintenance, fault analysis, rectification and testing of electrical, instrumentation and systems-based equipment.</li><li>Ability to act as Team Leader to plan, guide and carry out necessary maintenance tasks.</li><li>Ability to communicate with management, and team and produce information as required.</li><li>Ability to resolve problems by planning and assessing priorities and directing tasks.</li><li>Decision making skills.</li><li>Sufficient computer skills for data entry and interpretation.&nbsp;Use of computer-based asset maintenance systems to analyze both financial and maintenance data to optimize maintenance resource.&nbsp;Ability to order equipment on a computer-based ordering system in emergencies.</li><li>Must ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and processes.</li><li>Must be reliable and punctual and set a positive example at all times.</li><li>Must be mentally alert at all times.</li><li>Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.</li><li>Job class requires 40 hours per week which may include scheduled weekend duty.</li><li>Incumbents in this position are expected to be on call and will be required to work overtime as needed.</li></ul>Required Certification/Licenses/Training:&nbsp;<ul><li>RI Certification in Water Treatment (1T) or an ability to obtain through testing or reciprocity within 6 months.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and CDL License with air brake rider and tanker endorsement required.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:&nbsp;<ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.&nbsp;</li><li>The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb stairs or ladders; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.&nbsp;</li><li>The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.&nbsp;</li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to distinguish color, close vision and distance vision.</li></ul><h4>Additional Information</h4>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer!
