SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily support and execution of campus facilities maintenance, custodial services and other general campus operations.&nbsp; Incumbent must strive to provide a safe, clean and efficiently operating campus environment supportive of learning and growth.&nbsp; This role requires the familiarity with cleaning procedures, chemicals, cleaning equipment as well as a variety of trades including, but not limited to basic plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical, roofing, landscaping and various HVAC systems.&nbsp; Qualified applicants must perform as the main point of contact for all campus facility related requests, while adhering to all safety protocols. KEY JOB ELEMENTS: <ul><li>Clean and monitor the campus facilities to ensure a safe, clean, efficiently operating and productive work environment. </li><li>Meet with campus vendors, contractors, security and suppliers as directed by Facilities Management. </li><li>Coordinate and execute facilities/grounds maintenance and janitorial needs as directed by Facilities Management, may work alone or with a crew. </li><li>Assist Facilities Management in schedule and organize any service work performed by technicians, vendors and contractors relative to repairs, cleaning and security operations. </li><li>Perform maintenance repairs for basic plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, HVAC systems, roofing and general landscaping. </li><li>Consult with Facilities Management before calling in outside services or contractors. </li><li>Conduct regular building rounds and submit reports to Facilities Management to ensure your area of responsibility is clean and that cleaning and maintenance crews are keeping their assigned facilities clean and equipment in working order. </li><li>Respond to client inquires and complaints. Ensure timely and quality service delivery to clients. Working independently, but under the direction of the Lead Facilities Support Associate 6 and supervision of the Vice President of Operations, this position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment; ensuring facilities meet environmental, health and safety standards; performing tasks related to facility and grounds upkeep; assisting in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems or performing equipment maintenance; assisting with moving furniture or other large items; assisting with setting up for events; performing landscaping and mowing tasks, and other duties as assigned. This position is also expected to serve as back-up to custodial personnel during their absence. During inclement weather events or emergency maintenance situations, facilities personnel may be called in to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. with a fixed schedule to be set after employment begins. Some travel and work at satellite campuses may be required. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

ResponsibilitiesHowmet Engines has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician-Mechanic&nbsp;to assist in the maintenance process at our facility in Rochester, NY.&nbsp;Basic Functions:&nbsp;Work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility to assist install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.&nbsp;Responsibilities:<ul> <li>Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate: <ul> <li>Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment</li> <li>Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance technicians to diagnose the problem or repair the machine</li> <li>Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists</li> <li>Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery</li> </ul></li> <li>Troubleshoot and repair various aspects of production machinery, including saws, hydraulic presses and associated forging equipment: &nbsp; <ul> <li>Repair and replace mechanical components and assemblies, including install of forging dies and fixtures, bearing assemblies, chains, belts and sliding component wear plates</li> <li>Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical issues, from control power (transforms, power supplies, contactors, relays, motor starters and overloads) to 480V distribution and motors</li> <li>Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic issues including loss of system pressures, cylinder actuation, pump or valve leaks or malfunctions; replace hydraulics pumps, motors, cylinders valves and other associated components</li> <li>Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams</li> <li>Align and balance new equipment after installations</li> </ul></li> <li>Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices</li> <li>Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts</li> <li>Operate overhead cranes and hoists, forklifts, scissor and boom lifts</li> <li>Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow all Company policies, safety, and procedures</li> <li>Record maintenance and repair work performed</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:&nbsp;<ul> <li>High school diploma or GED is required</li> <li>3-5 years of experience</li> <li>Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry</li> <li>Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form</li> <li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be certified to operate a forklift and man lift to all approved OSHA and Howmet standards.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul> <li>Salary Range:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; $24-$25 per hour</li></ul>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
