Job Purpose:&nbsp;The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance support the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on all Walters State campuses.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Diagnoses and provides maintenance to air conditioning and heating system problems across the campus. Uses hand tools and grease guns to install any new equipment as necessary, such as pumps, controls, or valves.</li>
<li>Arranges for and completes preventive maintenance tasks, including changing oil, filters, belts and greasing/lubricating air conditioning systems.</li>
<li>Assists Facilities Management department with renovations or new construction projects with HVAC portion or other components as needed.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as required.</li>

Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>A technical certificate in HVAC and/or Industrial Electricity, or at least five years of career experience 
</li>
<li>Knowledge of HVAC, controls, electricity, and hydraulics 
</li>
<li>Ability to operate refrigerant reclaim machine, a vacuum pump, and related gauges and hand tools necessary for HVAC repair 
</li>
<li>Universal Refrigeration Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months 
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:

<li>Basic knowledge of 3 phase electricity 
</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Chiller, water to water systems and air to water systems

Environment &amp; Working Conditions:&nbsp;Constantly being outdoors causes exposure to conditions such as occasional extreme cold, frequent high heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity. There is a moderate chance of electrical shock, falls from ladders, chemical burns, and bodily injuries from power tools or lifting heavy materials. Occasionally will have to crawl in tight places in order to make repairs.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions 
The Facilities Support Associate will work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, stooping, and climbing. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require repetitive movements. Additionally, the position involves navigating campus environments, which include walking up and down stairs and traversing uneven surfaces. During inclement weather, the role will also involve cleaning and salting outdoor areas to ensure safety. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and noise from equipment is expected. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines, between $27,130 - $32,813.

Job Summary
This is a full-time position working under the general supervision of the Grounds Manager or designee. The Grounds Worker is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of campus grounds, landscaping, streets, and walks.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Maintenance of campus grounds including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, cleaning, debris removal, and picking up trash.</li>
<li>Operate various types of commercial equipment (i.e., Mower, tractors, backhoe, and forklift).</li>
<li>Maintenance of streets, parking lots, walks, installing traffic signs and maintenance of ponds.</li>
<li>Cultivate, toe trench, and mulch landscape plantings, shrubs and trees.</li>
<li>Mix and apply herbicides, insecticides, and fertilizers with the supervision of the Grounds Manager.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Empty outside trash receptacles and pick up trash and debris on campus grounds.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Cleaning of roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and building entrances during weather emergencies affecting normal campus operations (i.e., snow removal, debris removal).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Clean and properly maintain equipment and tools.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assist in delivering of all campus incoming freight and log daily freight information.&nbsp;</li>

POSITION SUMMARY

The Preventive Maintenance Technician (PM Tech) position assists in the repair and maintenance of the College’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other internal systems such as doors, keys and locksets. The College is seeking PM Tech’s to assist our trade supervisors in the following areas: Carpentry, Plumbing, and HVAC. These duties include but are not limited to: working on door closers, hinges and doors, installing sheetrock, changing filters, greasing pumps, cleaning coils, changing belts, greasing and changing bearings, servicing pumps &amp; motors, repairing toilets &amp; sinks, and servicing/maintaining/tracking equipment and inventory relevant to the department. Uniforms and personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times. This position reports to the Director and Executive Director of Plant Operations.

Assist Shipping/Receiving to deliver equipment and supplies to other campuses with 16’ or 26’ box truck. Assist Grounds in doing snow removal and applying ice melt chemical to sidewalks when needed. Assist EH&amp;S Manager in removing bio-hazard waste and storing for proper disposal. Assist EH&amp;S Manager in all campus emergency drills.
10% Set-up tables and PSCC display on and off campus for special functions.
10% Performs various custodial tasks.
