Maintain positive working relationship with constituencies. </li><li>Identify recipients of prizes, awards or gifts reportable on Form 1099, 1042 or W-2 and provide to manager of accounts payable and tax accounting to satisfy University tax filing obligations. </li><li>Administer procurement card software. Communicate important information to cardholders, proxies and financial managers related to monthly statements, allocation due dates and program announcements. Provide timely responses to questions from cardholders, proxies or financial managers about transactions. </li><li>Reconcile vendor statements to accounting information system. Contact vendors to request missing invoices or resolve discrepancies when necessary. </li><li>Monitor outstanding cash advances and reconcile monthly. Evaluate receipts for conformance with reimbursement standards. Prepare journal entries to record expenses and settle advances when necessary. </li><li>Reconcile assigned tax liability accounts monthly. Identify and resolve variances. Prepare various tax filings (such as Form 990-T, 1042, ST-103, RP-11, and county innkeeper’s tax) and associated payments to the appropriate federal, state, or local taxing authorities as required. Submit to manager of accounts payable and tax accounting for review and approval. </li><li>Analyze accounting reports to identify business activities of the University which may create tax obligations. Collaborate with accounting contacts, departments and financial managers to promote compliance with applicable tax regulations. </li><li>Identify vendors that can be paid by ACH and promote enrollment in program. </li><li>Analyze payment documents including invoices, direct pays, and payment notifications to identify expenses which meet criteria for accrual or deferral across fiscal years. Ensure expenses are recorded in proper fiscal period. Prepare associated journal entries when necessary. </li><li>Assist Manager of Accounts Payable and Tax Accounting with issuance of Form 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-K and to all qualified vendors and prepare information for transmission to Internal Revenue Service annually. </li><li>Research issues related to tax reporting, withholding, and filing obligations. Work with appropriate Business Office units and University departments to promote compliance with applicable regulations. </li><li>Prepare and post journal entries to record vendor rebates received in the form of gift cards and gift certificates. Track use of rebates and prepare entries to recognize expense when redeemed. </li><li>Submit journal entries as needed to record or adjust tax liability balances and correct accounting distribution of previously approved invoices. </li><li>Scan and/or import accounts payable documents and index in Banner Document Management system. Ensure compliance with standards for document presentation and image quality. Redact confidential and sensitive information on electronic documents. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of tax regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and University accounting procedures. </li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Required Knowledge and Skills <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting. POSITION SUMMARY:&nbsp; The Principal Faculty member, as a full-time faculty instructor in the Physician Assistant (PA) Program, is primarily responsible for course instruction and/or course coordination in the didactic and/or clinical phase of the program. This individual is expected to demonstrate effectiveness in course design, delivery, and evaluation, and plays a critical role in supporting students to achieve the program’s student learning outcomes and the competencies required for PA practice. Under the guidance of the program leadership, the Principal Faculty member contributes to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement in accordance with the ARC-PA Accreditation Standards. This role includes active participation in program planning, student advising, academic support, and other activities that foster student and programmatic success. Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs, departments, and colleges and abide by the South University Board of Trustees and administration's mandates.KEY JOB ELEMENTS:<ul><li>Manage the educational process to ensure every student is involved in a positive educational experience through the learning, teaching, and social environment.</li><li>Perform faculty responsibilities as outlined in the faculty job description in accordance with the provisions of Faculty Supplement to the South University Employee Handbook. </li><li>Provide course instruction that aligns with the South University model of curricula and supports the South University style of system delivery.</li><li>Design and deliver instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course outcomes, the development of activities that support lesson objectives, and for online courses, deliver the instruction as approved within each course shell. </li><li>Effectively utilize technology in the classroom to support the student learning experience.</li><li>Enable the achievement of pre-defined outcomes for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction that fosters proficiency and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation. </li><li>Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing an educational environment conducive to learning and student involvement and effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success. </li><li>Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching and students, and engaging students in the learning process. </li><li>Manage the educational environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies consistent with the school, campus, or online division.</li><li>Relate professional/life/industry experience to learning by continuing professional/technical skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities.</li><li>Participate in the faculty development process to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities in learner-centered instruction.</li><li>Communicate consistently and effectively with supervisor(s), faculty, and other South University administrators. </li><li>Contribute to a learning culture by participating in curriculum and system task forces, support local campus events such as orientation and graduation, and participate in various other workshops and meetings.</li></ul>Job Requirements:&nbsp;<ul><li>Faculty teaching Psychology courses at the undergraduate level: doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in a Psychology teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).</li><li>Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work: earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.</li><li>Experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.</li><li>Membership in a professional association tied to the area of instruction preferred. </li><li>Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable to the discipline.</li><li>At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary education institution preferred, with online experience a plus (for online only).</li><li>Ability to physically work in the United States while performing all responsibilities of the position for the University.</li><li>Computing - ability to access a personal computer, Internet connection, and telephone connection (hardware, software, and Internet access specifications to be provided) to fulfill teaching and related administrative responsibilities.</li><li>Office Hours - ability to hold required office hours and respond to student questions and administration within the required response time.</li><li>Orientation participation -ability to complete the New Faculty Orientation and other assigned/required training (e.g., Code of Conduct) through South University.</li></ul>(For Online Positions Only)<ul><li>Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, working online with students five of seven days per online week.</li></ul><ul><li>Willingness to attend meetings as required by the respective department.</li></ul><ul></ul>WORK ENVIRONMENT:&nbsp;&nbsp;The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
