Interior Design Part-Time Lecturer (Academic Year 2025-2026)UIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Interior Design Program invites part-time faculty candidates for Interior Design Lecturer within the School of Media &amp; Design. Position will teach undergraduate courses in Interior Design, to include, studio and seminar courses, ensuring implementation of CIDA standards in all courses taught. Integration of a variety of digital media into Design Studios is expected.In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the University include teaching and professional activities as assigned.Essential FunctionsBasic Instructional Duties:• Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi; prepare and deliver consistent, interactive lectures; courses to be taught may include, but are not limited to: Architectural Drafting, Form, Space &amp; Theory, Space Planning, Sketching &amp; Rendering, Interior Materials, History of the Built Environment, Codes and Construction Documents, Professional Practice and Furniture Design. Ensure implementation of CIDA standards in all courses taught.• Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams and assessments for assigned courses.• Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.• Be available outside of class to help students learn as well as answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically).• Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.• Document lectures, PowerPoints, handouts, and student tests and projects for CIDA binders; complete CIDA Binder at end of each semester.• Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.• Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.• Perform other duties as assigned.
