<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintain standards of teaching to the collegiate level and perform according to the NAACLS accreditation standards.&nbsp;</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s in Science as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist credentialed by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) and holds a current TN state license as a Technologist.</li>
<li>Evidence of ongoing professional development.</li>
<li>Demonstration of adequate knowledge and proficiency in their content areas.</li>
<li>Demonstration of the ability to teach effectively at the appropriate level.</li>
<li>Effective oral and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, staff and faculty.</li>
<li>Display a student-centered approach.</li>
<li>Willingness to reinforce all lecture lessons with hands-on experiences when resources permit.</li>
<li>Consistently demonstrates the highest level of integrity and professionalism.</li>
<li>Able to stand for extended time; ability to lift 25 pounds.</li>
<li>Computer literate.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Work constantly to instill in students the technical and academic competencies and employment behavior expected within the specific area.</li>
<li>Prepare for class and lab instruction and show written evidence of preparation.</li>
<li>Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individual or student&nbsp;groups involved.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain a classroom and lab environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided.</li>
<li>Develop and enforce appropriate rules and expectations of students in the classrooms and lab settings that are in compliance with&nbsp;STCC policies/procedures and that result in a safe, effective learning environment.</li>
<li>Meet and conduct assigned classes in a professional manner. If prevented from meeting classes due to illness or emergency, he/she is responsible for notifying the program director.</li>
<li>Establish appropriate means of communication (PAWS, email) and plan to be available to the students before and after class meetings or by appointment.</li>
