ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
65%&nbsp;&nbsp; A.&nbsp; TEACHING: Develop and teach U.S. HISTORY courses to a diverse student population using traditional and alternative delivery formats (hybrid, web, cohort, accelerated).&nbsp; Prepare course syllabi, course materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
20%&nbsp; &nbsp;B. &nbsp;SERVICE/OUTREACH: &nbsp;Participate in program/curriculum development and assessment, student advising, department meetings, and college boards and committees.&nbsp; Perform related duties as assigned
15%&nbsp; &nbsp;C.&nbsp; PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:&nbsp; Participate in continuing professional development to improve teaching, evaluation of student learning and classroom technique.

JOB STANDARDS:
A. Master’s Degree in History from a regionally accredited institution.
B. 18 graduate semester hours in United States History
C. &nbsp;Additional knowledge of and experience teaching non-U.S. History survey preferred.
D. Minimum one-year related teaching experience at the postsecondary level
E. Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE:
A. Demonstrated competence teaching survey-level history courses in a traditional face-to-face
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Classroom.
B. Experience teaching survey courses in early and modern U.S. history preferred.
C. Experience teaching in a community college preferred.
D. Ability to communicate effectively, and establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
E. Expertise in curriculum development is required.
JOB LOCATION:
Candidates should be prepared to teach at any of the college’s four campuses as needed.&nbsp; Accordingly, travel between sites may be required.

Position Summary:&nbsp; This is a tenure-track position. Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to Registered surgical technology students at the assigned program site. Supports essential program functions, including faculty coordination, curriculum management, and student success initiatives. Collaborates with clinical affiliates (Clinical Manager), the Schedule Coordinator, and/or Educational Coordinator for the Operating Room, utilizing good interpersonal skills in relating to students, clinical personnel, and physicians (per AST Clinical Coordinator Description).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

<li>Teaching at the clinical and lab level</li>
<li>Ensures curriculum is current, relevant, and aligned with program standards through clinical placements and appropriate clinical hours given to all students. Participates in ad hoc committees as assigned. Suggests scheduling and staffing to ensure clinical/lab coverage.</li>

15% - Leadership 
<ul>
<li>Represents the program in advisory board meetings, adjunct orientation, and advocates for program-specific needs.</li>
<li>Coordinates adjunct recruitment and hires adjuncts.&nbsp; Evaluates adjuncts and clinical sites each semester per program policy and as needed.&nbsp; Ensures that the surgical technology program complies with hospital regulations and regulatory bodies.</li>

10% - Assessment

<li>Provides a course report at faculty meetings and, as needed, discusses any assessment adjustments and/or student enrollment numbers. <li>Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).</li>

<li>Three years of documented experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.</li>
