Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a qualifying field or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields
Qualifying Fields: Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, Marketing, Management, Statistics, Business Math, Business Education, Economics, Sales, Human Resources Management, or Organizational Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Doctoral degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution by the application date and three years of Community College teaching experience. Ability to teach in an additional MSCC teaching field.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Provide academic advisement and mentoring to students about academic and career goals</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, curriculum chair, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline including scholarship, creative research, disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities that focus on the boundaries of knowledge, community-based scholarship, creative activities, and the development of cutting-edge teaching approaches</li>
<li>Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college; Participate in graduation exercises</li>
<li>Teach a 15-hour load per semester; summers are voluntary, but not guaranteed</li>
<li>Post and maintain office hours which provide adequate time for academic advisement with students; out-of-class meetings with students and colleagues; and faculty, division, and departmental meetings</li>

Job Summary
This is a full-time, term anatomy and physiology and biology faculty appointment reporting to the Natural Sciences Department Head for the academic year. The faculty member is responsible for the preparation and delivery of learning outcome-aligned content, the evaluation of student performance, and related activities. At a minimum, the related activities include curriculum development, weekly office hours, academic advising, annual committee service, annual professional development and participation in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend at any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus or program location, as assigned.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepare and deliver lectures and laboratory instruction to students on topics in introductory biology, general biology and anatomy and physiology.</li>
<li>Fairly and consistently evaluate student performance in laboratory activities, problem-solving assignments, timed assessments, and writing assignments.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Provide routine and mandatory updates on grades by utilizing Southwest’s learning management system and grade reporting system, as required by law.</li>
<li>Comply with Southwest’s learning management system minimum use policy.</li>
<li>Report attendance utilizing the Southwest attendance reporting system, as required by law.</li>
<li>Post and maintain ten (10) weekly office hours for students seeking advice on careers, academic pathways, or course work.</li>
<li>Participate in departmental and college committees and provide outreach service to the community by serving in related organizations or committees.</li>
<li>Attend all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the president, dean, or department head.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Master's degree with a major in biology or a related biological sub-field from an accredited institution or a master's degree and eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in biology or a related biological sub-field including nine (9) graduate or undergraduate hours in coursework relevant to anatomy and physiology.
