Title: Part-Time Position
Job Summary
• Provide instruction and guidance in reading writing competencies. • Provide support for and guidance in the successful completion of the associated gateway course curriculum and assignments. • Jackson State offers classes at four locations, with the main campus located in Jackson, TN. Additional centers include the Lexington-Henderson County Center in Lexington, TN, the Savannah-Hardin County Center in Savannah, TN, and the Gibson County Center in Trenton, TN. Adjunct faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and are expected to provide effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus. 
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Teach courses via on ground at any of the four JSCC locations. In addition, courses may be administered online, hybrid, or FLEX as assigned.</li>
<li>Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.</li>
<li>Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.</li>
<li>Submit updated course syllabi at least 1 week prior to the first day of class.</li>
<li>Submit requested content to eLearn course materials at least 1 week prior to the first day of class.</li>
<li>Attend JSCC’s adjunct orientation</li>
<li>Regularly check both your JSCC and eLearn emails and respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on the weekend.</li>
<li>Provide regular and timely feedback to students on assignments and course progress, including, but not limited to, weekly grades, midterm grades, and meaningful written or oral feedback on individual assignments.</li>
<li>Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.</li>
<li>Complete all required College trainings and reports, such as attendance and Early Alerts, by the respective deadlines.</li>
<li>Advise the Department Chair, Dean, and Department Secretary at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class.</li>
<li>Comply with all the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field. • Prior teaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. • Strong computer skills, including college database (Banner) management, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

This is a remote position. Job Summary
Part time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Columbia State also offers classes at several off-campus locations and clinical sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. Experientially qualified in Foundations, Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, Mental Health, or Women’s Health.&nbsp; Licensed in Tennessee as a Registered Nurse (or immediately eligible). Current CPR (BLS/AED).

Salary is $560 per credit hour. Workload adjustments will be made for faculty teaching classes where the number of contact hours exceeds the number of credit hours. Additionally, a travel stipend may be negotiated at time of hire for faculty traveling more than 80 miles each week to teach their classes. For part-time faculty who continue to work at Columbia State, salary is based on collegiate level teaching experience documented during the first semester of teaching.
Part-Time Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
The part-time faculty member reports directly to the dean for assignments/duties and is responsible for:

<li>Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental course syllabi and course minimum student learning outcomes.</li>
<li>Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.</li>
<li>Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in his/her classes.</li>
<li>Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and for informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate records of student attendance/participating and grades.</li>
<li>Reading Columbia State email and responding to student questions via email in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, student enrollment</li>
