Are you ready to tackle the challenge to help us build the future?Responsibilities<ul><li>Assists Linemen to gain poles, frame cross-arms, assemble guys, and splice wire.</li><li>Loads and unloads material.</li><li>Raises material and tools on pole or tower by use of handline.</li><li>Dismantles material removed from the line and places on trucks.</li><li>Digs holes for poles and anchors.</li><li>Drives ground rods and pull wires and guys to tension.</li><li>Attends winch while handling heavy material and attends reels while stringing wire.</li><li>Makes and maintains trails, fells trees, hoes weeds around poles and towers.</li><li>Learns tools, materials, and methods of line construction and maintenance.</li><li>Operates truck and power equipment used in overhead and underground line construction. May occasionally operate vehicles up to the 12,000 lb. unladen weight class.</li><li>Maintains a safety "own it" attitude where you choose to be safe for what and who you value.</li><li>Performs other miscellaneous manual labor functions as advised.</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Experience or training with basic construction activities.</li><li>Possess a valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with electrical tools, materials, and methods employed in overhead and underground line construction and maintenance.</li><li>Experience as a Groundman working on overhead and underground construction.</li><li>A certificate of completion from an SCE-accredited training program with Pole Climbing Endorsement such as East LA Skills Center, LA Trade Tech, Northwest Lineman's College, Electrical Lineman Apprentice, Electrical Line Worker or Electrical Utility Program.</li><li>Experience with performing heavy manual labor.</li><li>CPR certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association.</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>We have multiple Groundman postings specific to the work location that is hiring. In this job, you’ll supervise a team of construction/ maintenance line crews and a troubleman focusing on construction activities. This person will be an inspirational leader taking ownership in the safety of crew members. This person will inspire crews to work safely and effectively, provide direction to crews on the execution of work order plans, and strategically structure work activities within their work unit to optimize safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. This position will report directly to the District Manager.&nbsp; As a&nbsp;Field Supervisor, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? <h4>Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Supervises line crews, troublemen, and streetlight repairmen in day-to-day operations and assignments, ensuring crews adhere to safety policies and procedures in all applicable areas</li><li>Resolves operational issues promptly and effectively and leads the team to implement corrective actions</li><li>Conducts field visits and observations to monitor job progress, corrects unsafe working conditions in the field as they may arise, and inspects job sites to validate work meets standards</li><li>Addresses in-field employee disputes and adjusts crew schedules and priorities as site and employee needs change, monitoring workload to ensure effective resource utilization</li><li>Verifies accuracy of overall records, crew timesheets, and work order documentation </li><li>Provides mentoring, leadership, training, and development to employees, building effective relationships and delivering coaching and feedback</li><li>Interacts with customers, city officials, and other external agencies to complete work and adhere to project timelines</li><li>Optimizes crew cost efficiency, managing overtime and crew size as well as accurate tailboarding</li><li>A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Two or more years in an electric utility performing or supervising in planning, design, construction, maintenance, standards &amp; development, system operations, field operations, engineering, or construction project management</li><li>Possess&nbsp;a valid Class C Driver's License.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience and knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement.</li><li>Experience with the Workit electronic work order system.</li><li>Experience working as a Troubleman or E-Crew Foreman.</li><li>Five or more years of combined experience performing and/or supervising activities related to the design, construction, and maintenance, and/or scheduling activities associated with the electric distribution system.</li><li>Experience leading cross-functional teams or bargaining unit personnel including, applying the IBEW collective bargaining agreement.</li><li>Experience overseeing or executing medium to large construction projects with underground and overhead construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical distribution system and associated regulatory requirement, including environmental regulations, safety policies and procedures, and hazardous waste management.</li><li>Experience reviewing work and leading the execution of work to ensure on schedule completion.</li><li>Experience and ability to plan and prioritize projects, including managing multiple simultaneous projects and identifying/ allocating resources to ensure project timelines are met.</li><li>Experience applying GO95, GO128, GO165 and Accident Prevention Manual rules.</li><li>Experience and ability to effectively lead others by building strong working relationships with employees, adapting leadership style to a variety of employees, identifying developmental needs, and delivering coaching and mentoring.</li><li>Experience and ability to effectively communicate with internal departments, customers, and union personnel.</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.&nbsp; Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
