We are part of a national network of Baby Cafés that provide free, high-quality breastfeeding support to all families. Our goal is to empower parents through education, encouragement, and compassionate care in a culturally sensitive environment. We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) to join our Baby Café team to be a Clinical Co-lead. They will provide direct lactation support, lead the breastfeeding support group sessions, and promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere where parents feel welcomed, informed, and confident in their feeding choices.<ul><li>Serve as a clinical co-lead in operating the Baby Café, including opening the session, facilitating discussions, and ensuring a smooth and supportive experience from start to close.</li><li>As Clinical Co-lead, will co-direct clinical discussions and give advice by assessing and addressing common and complex breastfeeding challenges, using evidence-based sources. Support diverse family structures and feeding goals with evidence-based care.</li><li>As Clinical Co-lead, will lead group education and stay current in best practices and continuing education in lactation support.</li><li>Collaborate with partners when needed.</li><li>Volunteer coordination to help establish the Baby Café, promote the Baby Café in the community, and attendance of regular check-ins with the manager and the Baby Café team at South End</li><li>CLC will attend the mandatory initial BCUSA training and will attend updated “Refresher Trainings” that are deemed necessary by BCUSA, or requested by the staff and/or sponsors of the Baby Café.</li><li>CLC will complete Baby Café requirements, including:</li><li>-- Weekly verbal/text report given to an IBCLC</li><li>-- Quarterly face-to-face or conference call meeting between IBCLC and CLC to discuss case studies/issues</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare providers, community resources, and peer counselors</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for families</li><li>Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance at the weekly Baby Café that lasts 2 hours</li></ul>EDUCATION: <ul><li>Current Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or IBCLC license</li></ul>EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>3+ years of lactation counseling, or equivalent experience</li><li>Experience working with a diverse population</li><li>Preferred experience working in a Baby Café or similar group setting</li><li>Preferred background in maternal/child health, public health, or perinatal support</li></ul>SKILLS/ABILITIES:<ul><li>CPR- BLS certification</li><li>Excellent communication, listening, and teaching skills</li><li>Passion for supporting and empowering families</li><li>Preferred Bilingual or multilingual abilities</li></ul>Hourly Rate starting at $43.50 an hour, and up to $67.50 based on experienceEEO &amp; Accommodation Statement:NeighborHealth is an equal employment/affirmative&nbsp;action employer.
