General Description:
Performs general clerical and a number of repetitious accounting duties to accomplish accounts receivable, cash management, general accounting, auditing, and/or student financial services that support the office of Student Financial Services and Dyersburg State Community College.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, performs general clerical and/or accounting duties in one or more of the following areas:
Accounts Receivable: Assist with monitoring and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the student accounts receivable system through problem resolution and verification of student account balances and refunds; analyze student and non-student accounts; research and respond positively to related inquires and complaints; assist with the collections process, research delinquencies, perform collections calls, prepare related collections paperwork; prepare paperwork to process third-party billings; code accounts as instructed and update the database timely.
Cashiering/Cash management/Accounts Payable:&nbsp;
Serve as cash custodian, prepare cash boxes for home ball games, student group functions, theatre productions, and other campus activities as needed and perform reconciliation of such; prepare daily deposit; process paper and direct deposit disbursements daily or as needed and perform reconciliation of such.
Student Financial Services: Process financial aid transactions; scan and verify pertinent documentation; keep apprised of changes in student status and react accordingly; inform students of changes and how such affects financial aid status or eligibility; represent Student Financial Services area during Open House, FAFSA Fever, or other such events; respond to related inquiries and complaints in a positive manner; maintain current knowledge of related federal, state, TBR and institutional regulations; assist with processing and reconciliation of student book vouchers.
Prepare forms, reports, records, and correspondence; receive and respond to related mail, phone calls and other inquiries timely and positively; maintain contacts and reconcile discrepancies with external parties.
Maintain physical and/or electronic documentation according to policy.
Assist with reconciling accounts; post, balance and code data; prepare related records, logs and reports.
Maintain and order supplies for Student Financial Services.

Working Conditions:
Sedentary: Deskwork; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Some activities may occur outside of normal working hours. Required Qualifications:

      Bursar/Accounts Receivable Clerk
    

The Upward Bound Summer Instructors are responsible to the Director of TRIO Programs.&nbsp; The primary purpose is to teach the Upward Bound students during the summer program in the approved subject area.&nbsp; The Upward Bound summer program provides summer instruction to the Upward Bound students to prepare them for the upcoming academic year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Develop curriculum for the summer program for your subject area.</li>
<li>Teach morning courses daily from 8:00 am-12:00 pm for the core subject areas.&nbsp; Teach afternoon enrichment classes from 12:30 pm -2:30 pm.</li>
<li>Provide a pre-test and post-test for the subject area.</li>
<li>Maintain student confidentiality.</li>
<li>Record attendance and grades for each student.</li>
<li>Instructors are encouraged to develop exciting, hands on and innovative ways to present the subject material and encourage the students to learn, attend and participate.</li>
<li>Subjects needed for the summer of 2024: Morning Classes (7:45-12) Math, English, Spanish, Chemistry, afternoon (12:15-2:30) elective classes</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree required and must be certified by the State of Tennessee to teach at the high school level in your certified subject area.</li>
<li>Experience working with first generation and/or low-income students.</li>
<li>Experience working with Upward Bound Students preferred.</li>
<li>Core subject areas available:&nbsp; math, laboratory sciences, foreign language (Spanish), English composition and literature.&nbsp; Enrichment classes are based on need or potential learning experience.&nbsp; Prior enrichment classes have included:&nbsp; art, theater, robotics, finance, physics, nutrition, fitness, photography, life skills and etiquette. Working Conditions:
Working conditions will include classroom instruction at the Dyersburg State Community College campus in Dyersburg.&nbsp;
Must have letter from principal stating you are a certified teacher.&nbsp;
