This process is called “Smutting” and involves the employee working at a manual blast cabinet to place each part into the cabinet and rotate while a fine grit is used to blast off the remaining masking material.</li> <li>Prepare and complete paperwork covering areas of responsibility (Loading Diagrams), ensure sample/test piece is properly placed within containers, and verify&nbsp;accuracy of documentation submitted (check&nbsp;the part number, quantity, and order number against material received).</li> <li>Move filled boats to properly sized shoe box using designated rolling tables and lift devices.&nbsp; Attach thermocouples to each level as needed.</li> <li>As processes are completed, the operator will remove and inspect parts and place them back into the cartons they were originally received.</li> <li>Fill out all related paperwork, i.e., routers and/or internal records following PMS and Activity Instructions.</li> <li>Properly enter Cycle Ramp Rates, Soak Times, and Cycle Times per Process Sheets. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California.&nbsp; We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.General Summary:Operates a single or multiple spindle numerical controlled drilling machine to perform such operations as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, grooving, slotting etc. Follows predetermined procedures. Checks own work for conformance to specifications. Reports machine malfunction to appropriate person.Specific Responsibilities:<ul> <li>Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis</li> <li>Perform Preventative Maintenance per daily schedule</li> <li>Perform first piece verification process per part number as required&nbsp;</li> <li>Read blueprints and has the knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed</li> <li>Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives</li> <li>Actively employs set-up reduction techniques to minimize “internal” activities, drive down change-over times and increase productivity&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standards&nbsp;</li> <li>Active involvement in Autonomous Maintenance program &amp; complete PM sheet daily&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsible for producing and maintaining high level quality parts</li> <li>Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)&nbsp;</li> <li>Run production parts according to specifications, work instructions and quality standards.</li> <li>Follow all EHS Policies and Procedures. Report all incidents immediately.</li></ul>&nbsp;Knowledge and Skills<ul> <li>Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions</li> <li>Understanding of cutting tools (offset and geometry) and must know “G” and “M” Codes</li> <li>Must know basic troubleshooting</li> <li>Must be able to move and lift up to 30 lbs (may not exceed per EHS policies)</li> <li>Understanding of 5S principals; Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain</li> <li>Must be able to use the necessary measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Comparator, Gages, etc) as required</li> <li>Must be Lock, Tag, and Verify (LTV) authorized within a year of employment&nbsp;</li> <li>SPC knowledge highly desirable, mathematical skill and system 22&nbsp;</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul> <li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year experience in CNC or CNC Certificate&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be able to read, write and understand English&nbsp;</li> <li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
