Principal DDI and Automation Network Engineer

The Role

The DDI Engineer will be responsible for the overall infrastructure that consists of Infoblox and ISC Bind. Fidelity has on-prem and CSP based infrastructure that the DDI engineering team supports and is expected to develop skills to build automation that will result in less manual efforts. This position will require a disciplined approach towards ITSM methodologies ensuring the delivery of information technology services to meet the needs of the business community.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Senior level automation experience using Python and Ansible Tower.

  • Configuring and supporting DNS infrastructure in the cloud and hybrid environments.

  • Able to build and deploy new automation solutions and troubleshooting existing automation.

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of network and DDI experience.

  • Experience in Infoblox and DNS.

  • Ability to mentor and help develop engineering team in automation.

  • Ability to develop and deploy DDI automation.

  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge.

  • Experience with Linux and scripting.

  • Experienced in change management best practices.

  • Enterprise Security Policy knowledge and standard methodologies.

  • Skilled verbally and with presenting to senior team members on strategic idea innovations.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Network Certifications a plus but not required.

  • SNOW development experience a plus.

  • Strong desire to learn DDI and become a DDI SME.

  • Manage and Design Fidelity DDI infrastructure, on-prem and at CSPs.

  • Team automation SME.

  • Resolve complex issues related to DDI environments (on-call rotation).

  • Documentation of complex technologies and topologies based on security-based practices.

  • Management of life cycle for various technologies within the space (includes vendor management).

  • Work closely with all EI divisions to ensure 24x7 availability Network Services.

  • Assisting in troubleshooting network issues.

  • Member of 3rd level engineering critical issue on-call rotation.

The Team

Data Center and Network Services (DCNS) is dedicated to the overall global network engineering and support for Fidelity Investments within Enterprise Infrastructure. The DDI Engineering team, within DCNS, is primarily responsible for all Fidelity DDI Infrastructure.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
