ResponsibilitiesHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Assistant Controller&nbsp;for our aerospace fastener plant in Fullerton, CA.The Assistant Controller supports&nbsp;the Plant Controller in the direct supervision of the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordination month end closing process, and daily/weekly monthly financial reporting. Assist in the development of financial plans and forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. Prime day-to-day responsibility will be cost accounting; monitor and report inventories, standard cost revisions and the operating budget will be key responsibilities.Specific Responsibilities Include:<ul><li>Assist with General Accounting functions such as financial reporting, fixed assets management, inter-company accounting, and daily expense analysis.</li><li>Assist with month end closing including preparing and posting of journal entries&nbsp;and reconcile monthly ledger accounts and help establish accounting policies and procedures.</li><li>Assist in monitoring and managing Raw material, Work-in-process, and Finished goods inventory.</li><li>Assist establishing and monitoring standard cost for each product and monitor MRP reports like Inventory, cost absorptions and variances. Manage and analyze standard costs, BOM and routers.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of the monthly business review and Business Unit Staff meeting packages.</li><li>Assist in financial, internal, and governmental audits to maintain compliance.</li><li>Perform a monthly testing of internal controls including SOX controls using Audit and self-assessed tools (ASAT) to ensure compliance with corporate standards and document observations using an online portal called Audit and Self-assessment portal (ASP)</li><li>Assist controller in monthly/quarterly/annually forecasting/budgeting as needed.</li><li>Assist controller to monitor and analyze&nbsp;Key Performance Indicators&nbsp;(KPI) and Key Financial Indicators (KFI) to identify operational processes inefficiencies and recommend necessary improvements.</li><li>Provide budget and project analysis for capital expenditure. Assist controller with financial payback and ROI analysis on capital projects as well post-implementation project review on completed projects.</li><li>Participate in the company's continuous improvement projects to assist in identifying opportunities and implement cost-saving objectives.</li><li>Assist on special projects for plant, division &amp; corporate management.</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul><li>BA or BS in Business Administration major emphasis in Accounting or Finance.</li><li>3-5 years of related experience in standard cost environment as an Accountant/Cost Accountant or Finance Analyst. Knowledge of US GAAP.</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>3-5 years of directly related work experience - standard cost system, manufacturing, aerospace. QAD and Oracle ERP system experience highly desirable.</li><li>QAD/MFG Pro/Oracle experience</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suites</li><li>Accounting license/certification</li></ul>Desirably Skills:1. Experienced in Manufacturing environment &nbsp;2. Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, with solid analytical and strategic planning skills.&nbsp;3. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, self-motivated and team-oriented skills.&nbsp;4. Must be proficient with computer systems and programs (MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint etc.) good spreadsheet skills.5.
