ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Howmet Houston Extrusions (77061) is seeking a fulltime Billet Prep Operator. The primary responsibilities are pulling bars of material, splitting the bars into billets and then machining a radius to one end of the billet. &nbsp;Traceability of all bars and billets are to be maintained at all times.&nbsp;Role and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Pulls bars of material&nbsp;</li><li>Splits bars to various length as defined in production traveler by using a band saw.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains traceability by maintaining stamping information on billets and bars as defined in the production travelers.&nbsp;</li><li>Reads job order for specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions on holding devices, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts, and cutting tools.</li><li>Lifts billet with hoist and positions and secures pieces in machine table.</li><li>Sets specified rotation speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, and positions tool in relation to billet.</li><li>Starts machine, turns controls to feed tool to billet, and engages feed.</li><li>Observes cutting action of machine to detect excessive wear or malfunction.</li><li>Verifies conformance of machines billet to specifications.</li><li>Scribes reference lines on billet or cut sheet to lay out interrelated surfaces, lengths, and depths of cut.</li><li>Computes unspecified dimensions and machine settings.</li><li>Maintains records of cuts, preparation / processing times, orders.</li><li>Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.</li><li>Operate overhead bridge cranes and jib cranes</li><li>Operator forklift and side loader.</li><li>Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.</li><li>Performs other assigned duties as directed</li></ul>QualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Highschool Diploma or GED</li><li>Minimum 1-4 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
