The role will include providing effective challenge to US regulatory reporting teams who are responsible for managing and delivering key financial and regulatory reporting filings for American Express.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Create, support, and manage the execution of the second line oversight framework for effective challenge to front line processes and activities in accordance with the applicable risk management policies, consistent with enterprise risk and operational risk program procedures.</li><li>Lead a team of risk managers and perform independent testing activities to validate the accuracy, interpretation and documentation of reporting instructions to ensure reporting requirements are met and appropriate data elements are captured and adhered to.</li><li>Perform specialized risk reviews and ongoing monitoring activities on important financial reports and regulatory reports required by FRB and OCC, including FR Y-9C, Call Report (FFIEC 031), FR2052a, and FR Y-14 etc.</li><li>Support the creation of an ongoing monitoring program including Risk Appetite metrics for the key reporting processes in AXP and other Key Risk Indicators; Track and monitor risk metrics to provide regular updates to senior management, risk committees and the Board.</li><li>Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and senior leaders in reporting units; Ensure regulatory compliance and manage regulatory relationship and exams for safety &amp; soundness related applicable regulations.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Leadership experience in risk management or a similar role</li><li>Post Graduate degree, CPA/Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification, with an in-depth knowledge of U.S. Regulatory and US GAAP requirements is must</li><li>Prior experience in assisting with preparation of Regulatory Reports required by FRB and OCC, including FR Y-9C, Call Report (FFIEC 031), FR2052a, and FR Y-14 would be strongly preferred</li><li>Proven people leadership experience and ability to attract, engage, and retain high caliber global talent</li><li>Prior Regulatory/Federal Reserve/SEC/External Reporting and banking/financial services experience strongly preferred.
