They will be able to retrieve merchandise from shelves that are 6 feet high, lift and carry totes that may weigh up to 60 pounds, and maneuver in confined spaces of 4 feet or less. The Logistics Analyst I is responsible for ensuring existing carriers are managing awarded lanes and securing logistics options to reduce and control costs. Benefits you can count on: <ul><li>Day 1 Benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance </li><li>Paid time off begins day one.</li><li>401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.</li><li>Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!</li></ul> What you'll do as a Logistics Analyst: <ul><li>Analyze performance by carrier partners (decline, on time, systems data updates, low margin) and identify strategies to improve poor performance.</li><li>Resource other logistics options or Transportation modes to improve current performance.</li><li>Work with other groups in monitoring prepaid/embedded lanes for conversion to profitable Collect or Kinexo margin lanes.</li><li>Work on continuous process improvement strategies for lane conversion and analysis.</li><li>Work with internal partners in backhaul conversions.</li><li>Negotiate directly with carriers directly on matters related to spot shipments, claims, and accessorial charges.</li><li>Serve as direct contact for McLane divisions, Procurement, and Suppliers on all aspects of inbound freight related to specific purchase order questions on a daily basis.</li><li>Negotiate freight cost and provide specific cost feedback to customers.</li><li>Provide specific feedback to Kinexo management related to service reporting and inbound freight margin loss.</li><li>Investigate and resolve all matters related to carrier accessorial charges on behalf of Kinexo </li><li>Coordinate meetings with multiple carriers during annual, monthly and quarterly reviews.</li><li>Foster relationships with carrier's partners with long-term goals of controlling/improving transportation costs.</li><li>Work with Logistics Systems Analyst with training new carriers with compliance to systems needs.</li><li>Audit reports - monthly and quarterly (carrier decline, on time, low margin, L14, L16).</li><li>Identifying low performing lanes and carriers from current/new reports and determine strategies to improve performance directly related to Kinexo Logistics financial performance.</li><li>Review reports and processes to make them more efficient, timely and relevant. </li><li>Spot market growth and cost reduction.</li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Logistics Analyst: <ul><li>Have a BS or BA degree in Transportation, Logistics, or commensurate experience in logistics environment.</li><li>Have an understanding of business logistics and supply chain management, including transportation, distribution and customer service.</li><li>Have 2+ years in logistics or operations environment.</li><li>Have creativity, problem solving and strong analytical and communication skills.</li><li>Be knowledgeable of information systems, including experience working with and designing relational databases (strong database and spreadsheet knowledge is essential). </li><li>Have experience with MS Access, MS Excel and MS Outlook.</li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
