What you will do!The Mental Health Triage RN creates a consistent standard of work in the admissions process by assisting with the coordination of admissions to the Oregon State Hosptial. The Mental Health Triage RN works to establish positive relationships with all stakeholders. The Mental Health Triage RN shall make all initial nursing contacts with facilities from which patients are being admitted. The basis for psychiatric nursing is the recognition and identification of patterns of response to mental health problems utilizing the nursing process of assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with other disciplines. The Mental Health Triage RN will create and maintain documentation necessary to provide all stakeholders the information needed to prepare for the most appropriate care of the patient immediately upon admission. The Mental Health Triage RN shall utilize this information to assist the Admissions Manager in determination of best unit of admission for each patient. The Mental Health Triage RN is expected to maintain contact with outside stakeholders as appropriate throughout the pre-admission and admission process.
