This position will apply prescribed methods and standard practices in performing all phases of projects and in assisting other plant staff on more complex projects. This position will be tasked with developing engineering studies, plans, various procedures, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the Georgia Biomass Power Plants. The plant engineer position working through the Operations Manager will provide supervisory oversight to the plant operators on the same. This position will also perform sampling audits on boiler steam and boiler and cooling tower water. This position will primarily report to the Plant Manager but will be expected to interact regularly with the plant owners as required. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: <ul><li>Work outdoors in the field and perform task related engineering assessments.</li><li>Investigate incidents, accidents, or failures to identify underlying causes and develop solutions to prevent recurrence, often requiring data analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration.</li><li>Manage Material Testing Reports for code welding repairs.</li><li>Reviewing and verifying the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of P&amp;ID drawings, ensuring they accurately reflect process requirements and industry standards.</li><li>Perform boiler efficiency calculations and assessments - provide recommendations to improve.</li><li>Analyze various processes and provide recommendations for improvement.</li><li>Analyze retrieved data and communicate results to management.</li><li>Archive certain documents into data management system.</li><li>Analyzing and optimizing workflows, systems, and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance, often using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.</li><li>May assist in other areas or with special projects as directed.</li></ul> Work Environment: <ul><li>Spends 50% of time outdoors or in a plant environment.</li><li>This may include extreme temperatures of hot and cold.
