Prepare drawings, change notices, specifications and inspection standards.</li><li>Verify and enhance product performance through layout, stress analysis and testing.</li><li>Investigate manufacturing problems and recommend corrective action.</li><li>Interaction with manufacturing, Tool Prep, tool vendors, inspection and other department supervisors or managers to solve and correct existing and expected manufacturing problems.</li><li>Recommends new tool or fixture materials, as necessary, to improve quantity and quality and to cut production costs.</li><li>Develops and maintains Tool Design and Drawing Standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Studies specifications and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost of tools.&nbsp;</li><li>Modifies tool designs according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance.</li><li>Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques.</li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned.</li></ul>&nbsp;Skills:<ul><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Team player; ability to interact effectively with other employees in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment</li><li>Computer skills:&nbsp;proficient with Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks)</li><li>Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited Institution</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience as an Engineer in manufacturing</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp;<ul><li>Prefer the Engineering Degree is in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, from an accredited institution</li><li>5 years of experience in a tool design role</li><li>Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks</li><li>Experience in a metal forming industry</li><li>Experience with tooling for turning and screw machines</li><li>Experience with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)</li><li>SolidWorks certification</li></ul>Benefits/Salary: The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation.
