Bernardo Sabatini and Marca Haigis, to investigate the genetic and metabolic vulnerability of glioma using CRISPR screen technology and the glioma-interacting neurons using viral tracing techniques. Our research is broadly interested in the molecular mechanism and neuronal microenvironment of the deadliest brain tumor-glioblastoma. We use a wide range of techniques including cell culture, RT-PCR, Western blot, mass spectrometry, intracranial injection, immunohistochemistry, and advanced microscopy to study how glioma cells respond to metabolic challenges in culture conditions and in the brain.The technician’s daily responsibilities include tissue culture to maintain glioma cell lines and patient-derived glioma neurospheres, validate the genetic hits from the CRISPR screen by conducting growth curve of the cell lines/patient-derived glioma neurospheres, cloning and viral packaging to create virus for genetic perturbation, confirm genetic perturbation of the cells/tissues by performing RT-PCR and Western blot, perform intracranial injection of glioma cell lines/patient-derived glioma neurospheres and monitor animal health and the tumor growth by animal imaging, perform mouse brain perfusion, dissection and slicing, perform RNA in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry to assess the spatial protein expression, perform imaging acquisition and analysis, perform data analysis and graphing. The technician will spend 50% of the time at Sabatini lab and 50% of the time at Haigis lab every week, participate lab meetings in both labs and fulfill lab responsibilities from both labs. The technician will learn and perform experiments with Dr. Annie Hsieh side by side and meet with her weekly to discuss experimental plan and data interpretation.Prior laboratory experience is required, as well as strong organizational skills and an eagerness to learn. Successful candidates will be independent, outgoing, flexible, self-motivated, and able to assimilate new information and execute quickly. You will have the opportunity to direct the research project while taking advantage of the intelligent, diverse, welcoming, and exciting team of researchers at both the Sabatini lab and Haigis lab.&nbsp; Qualifications Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline (at least 1 year related work experience - relevant course work may count towards experience).</li></ul>

NPs who are not eligible to obtain the certification within 3 years of hire will have 6 months from date in which they meet criteria to apply for the exam.Schedule:Shifts may vary and can include nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays based on the needs of the business.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Quality Provision of Services:<ul><li>Provides fully remote virtual serious illness care management to patients and families throughout our continuum of care; This continuum may include but is not limited to home-based, facility-based, and inpatient adult and pediatric hospice; palliative care; PACE, and additional service lines and programs offered or supported by Chapters Health System. </li><li>Consults with medical staff, and/or other members of the IDT as indicated to ensure optimal patient care in an effective and efficient manner.</li><li>Performs virtual assessment of patient/family/caregiver needs. </li><li>Identifies, manages, orders, and prescribes medication and equipment as appropriate. </li><li>Adjusts and supports the plan of care in accordance with Chapters policies and procedures and within the guidelines of the corresponding nurse practice act.</li><li>Assesses the caregiver’s ability to meet the patient’s immediate needs and confidence in the patient’s plan of care. </li><li>Provides education to increase the caregiver’s confidence as necessary and appropriate.</li><li>Supports staff by answering clinical questions, entering orders and prescriptions, and supporting the clinical needs of patients and families.</li><li>Maintains access to all electronic medical records (EMR), electronic prescribing systems, and other required websites and applications. </li><li>Documents all interactions as appropriate in the corresponding EMR in a timely manner.</li><li>Communicates and collaborates with the primary team to ensure continuity of care.</li><li>Supports with discharge planning including prescribing medications, entering discharge orders and instructions, etc.</li><li>Participates in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities as needed, including regular medical record reviews and medical peer reviews. Seeks to continually improve the care practices of Chapters to assure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.</li><li>Keeps knowledge base and skill levels current to assure quality patient care and professional growth. </li></ul>2.Organization/Regulatory Compliance:<ul><li>Maintains current knowledge of the latest research and trends in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. </li><li>Maintains continuing education as required for licensure and to ensure specialty level expertise in end-of-life care. </li><li>Obtains &amp; maintains hospital/facility credentialing as required. </li><li>Participates in departmental and medical staff activities as requested. </li></ul>3.People/Communications:<ul><li>Communicates and collaborates with team members, patients/families/caregivers, partnering providers and staff as required &amp; appropriate within HIPAA guidelines to help provide comfort &amp; deliver upon Chapters core values. </li><li>Provides patient and family education as needed to maintain quality care, to decrease patient and family anxiety, to facilitate the patient living with the highest quality care, and to assure both the patient and the family have the skills to care for the patient.</li><li>Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop by implementing a patient-directed individualized plan of care and assures the availability of information to team members.
