Associate/Full Professor in Immunology/InflammationThe Department of Biological Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor position in immunology, with an emphasis in systemic chronic inflammation and aging. Addressing health disparities and inequities that contribute to chronic disease development is a critical national priority, especially in Hispanic persons who suffer from extensive health disparities and often are characterized by earlier and worse chronic disease progression. UTEP is a focal point for education and biomedical research for Hispanics living on the US-Mexico border and has been intentional in supporting Hispanic Health Disparities research initiatives. UTEP is poised to become a national leader in this critical area of biomedical research by establishing an advanced health database. Postdoctoral Fellow - Public Health SciencesThe University of Texas at El Paso College of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Public Health Sciences diabetes research group. This role offers the opportunity to work on the implementation of science diabetes intervention research projects focused on community diabetes education programs. The Department of Public Health Sciences conducts culturally-centered diabetes intervention research and is dedicated to expanding and scaling interventions at community and organizational levels. This research incorporates curriculum development, health messaging/communication, and community engagement methodologies. By leveraging our access to a predominantly Hispanic population, we aim to develop effective prevention and treatment strategies for diabetes prevention and management. The successful candidate will engage in intervention research, contribute to grant writing, prepare manuscripts for publication, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Essential Functions:• Design and implement translational and implementation science using mixed-methods research.• Conducted clinical trials with human subjects, including assessments of behavioral and physical diabetes prevention/management outcomes, and sociocultural factors.• Prepare and submit IRB applications, ensuring compliance with ethical research practices.• Collect, analyze, and manage complex research data sets.• Prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings at professional conferences.• Contribute to grant writing efforts.• Assist with the overall management and coordination of ongoing research projects within the Department of Public Health Sciences.• Collaborate with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research methodologies and project execution.Job Requirements:Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as Public Health, Health Sciences, or Health Psychology) by the appointment date.
