This person will be essential to the growth of the Math Teaching and Teacher Learning program, in our ability to develop innovative content, produce relevant research, and provide evidence-based math coaching.&nbsp;Key ResponsibilitiesManage coach recruitment and hiring (10%)<ul><li>Develop a recruitment plan to hire additional M-Powering Teacher (MPT) Coaches</li><li>Facilitate the interview process</li><li>Propose hiring decisions</li><li>Facilitate coach hiring through HGSE and third-party vendor; serving as a liaison between coaches and HR/IT offices</li><li>Monitor payments</li><li>Strategize and execute plans for retaining a pool of high-quality and diverse coaches</li><li>Determine and facilitate any terminations and/or extensions for renewal</li></ul>Lead coach training and oversight (65%)<ul><li>Plan, develop, and implement trainings for new and returning MPT Coaches</li><li>Customize training materials given district context</li><li>Maintain coach resource site on Canvas</li><li>Monitor completion of MPT coaching conversations</li><li>Hire, train, and supervise graduate students on MPT Coaching projects</li><li>Lead oversight of MPT coaching conversations to inform content for coach support and webinars</li><li>Provide ongoing support to coaches via group webinars and individualized feedback</li><li>Maintain frequent communication with coaches to ensure coordination with the district and partners</li><li>Update coaching materials based on feedback from key stakeholders and observations from coaching conversations</li><li>Directly coach teachers using the M-Powering Teacher Coaching model</li><li>Expand the video library of MPT Coaching excerpts</li></ul>Support larger research project efforts (15%)<ul><li>In collaboration with research and district partners, contribute to teacher recruitment (e.g. devising a plan and timeline, providing materials, facilitating in person or virtual presentations)</li><li>Contribute to regular check-ins with collaborators – district and IHE partners</li><li>Coordinate with research partners at IHE to streamline processes and communication across site coordinators, teachers, coaches, district administration, and project staff.</li></ul>Manage further development of MPT Coaching (10%)<ul><li>Provide regular feedback on M-Powering Teachers app development based on coach and teacher feedback</li><li>Contribute to development of additional Natural Language Processing (NLP) measures, in collaboration with PI Heather Hill</li><li>Support Senior Manager to adapt the coaching model to accommodate new NLP measures, new research designs, and service needs</li><li>Develop additional coach training materials to align with further development, expansion, and research.</li><li>Collaborate with MQI Coaching Project Manager to expand the video library of classroom instruction, particularly around Illustrative Mathematics and other HQIM</li></ul>This position is grant funded for one year from date of hire&nbsp;with a possibility of extension based on funding and the Center's needs.&nbsp;&nbsp; Qualifications Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience coaching mathematics teachers and classroom teaching, and/or working in a research-practice partnership and classroom teaching.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with computer software and hardware, including MS Office, PowerPoint, &amp; Excel required.</li><li>&nbsp;Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Must be very attentive to detail and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple partners and cross-function teams</li><li>Experience facilitating adult learning preferred.</li><li>Experience with M-Powering Teachers, M-Powering Teachers Coaching, and/or MQI Coaching preferred. &nbsp;</li><li>Candidates wishing to be considered must submit a resume and cover letter.</li><li>All candidates invited to the in-person/hybrid interview will be asked to complete a task.</li></ul>Expected to travel up to 10% of time.
