Small Interactive Groups Facilitator, Part-time (Academic Year 2025-2026)UIW MissionPosition SummaryThe University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) invites part-time faculty candidates for Small Interactive Groups Facilitator. This position is responsible for guiding and evaluating the SIGS process. Small Group Interactive Sessions (SIGS) are a cornerstone of the first two years of UIWSOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) curriculum. During the first two years, learners meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in small groups with a faculty process facilitator. Candidates who are selected for the position must successfully complete the SIGS facilitator training program. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty in designated area as needed during the 2025-2026 Academic Year.Essential Functions• Guide a group of 8-10 learners in the SIGS process to ensure the boundaries of the session are followed.• Follow up with reflection questions as appropriate.• Conduct performative and summative evaluations of learners.• Attend SIGS facilitator debriefs.• Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.• Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.• Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.• Adhere to UIW policies and procedures.• Perform other duties as assigned.Job DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal.• Strong collaboration, team building, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.• Strong organizational skills.• Ability to deliver instruction in person.• Ability to effectively learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology into teaching.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationMaster's Degree in any education or health profession field.Required Work ExperienceNone.Preferred Qualifications• Experience in small group facilitation.• Doctoral level or terminal degree.Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone specified.Work Hours8-10 hours per week. Standardized Patient (Part-Time)UIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Standardized Patient (SP) is trained to portray the role of a patient, family member, or other to allow student learners to practice physical exam skills, history taking skills, communication skills, and other exercises. The SP will often be physically examined by students and faculty as part of the medical students learning experience. The SP must maintain a professional manner when interacting with students, faculty, supervisors, peers, and UIW partners. The Standardized Patient reports to Clinical Outreach &amp; Standardized Patient Manager.The Standardized Patient (part-time) works on an as needed basis and may work a few times per year or a few times per month.
