The Director of Workforce Development is a strategic and dynamic leadership position responsible for advancing the College’s Mission, marketing, aligning workforce training to meet regional workforce needs, and scheduling classes, training programs, and workshops that meet the needs of industry and business partners. This position is responsible for developing, expanding, and sustaining innovative partnerships with business, industry, educational partners, and community organizations throughout our nine-county service area to ensure a well-prepared workforce for in-demand careers. The Director provides thoughtful vision and leadership for the design and delivery of all workforce programming, including customized training, short-term nonacademic certifications, apprenticeships, and continuing education. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers, chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, and community organizations.
Develop new workforce initiatives to address skills gaps and advance regional economic growth.
Collaborate with academic schools to integrate workforce pathways into credit-bearing programs, complement academic programming, and build a faculty pool to teach workforce offerings.
Manage budgets, explore grants, and find external funding sources/opportunities to expand workforce training.

Oversee the apprenticeship programs for DSCC, recruit new apprentices, and work with employers to onboard new programs.
Track and report apprenticeship hours in the Workhands program and in institutional required reporting.
Work to increase enrollment of Military and Military Affiliated students in credential courses within the Workforce Development.
Identify and solicit grant opportunities to assist with training as needed.
Travel to businesses within the service area to meet with prospective clients and industry partners.
Work collaboratively with the Office of External Affairs to design marketing materials for the athletic department, including but not limited to schedule posters, rosters, infographics, social media graphics, and advertising graphics.
Maintain the department’s social media pages, online course catalog, and Campus CE accounts on a regular basis.

<li>Coordinate scanning, indexing, and disposal of part-time faculty employment documents.</li>

<li>Calculate and verify part-time faculty travel stipends and payroll summary sheets, communicating corrections to the divisions.</li>

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees through onboarding and development. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and recognize performance.
Job Duties:
Creates, delivers and manages the onboarding process, gathers feedback, and identifies areas for improvement to enhance the employee experience. Develops training and development programs and objectives through training materials utilizing a variety of media. Delivers sessions on policy, culture, and mission and coordinates specific training. Supports leadership and employees on succession planning for the College. Plans, organizes, facilitates and is responsible for supplies to support employee development and training events. Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources. Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results. Tracks training activities for both new hires and existing employees from launch through completion. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) years of related experience.

This position supports Testing Services along with providing assistance to the Testing Services Department and Student Affairs Division.
This position is located primarily on the Columbia, TN Campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

<li>Provide proctoring support for all exams administered in Testing Services including Accuplacer, HiSet, Graduation Exit Exam, ACT On-Campus, ACT National, PearsonVue and individually proctored exams for Distance Education, TN eCampus and special needs testing.</li>
<li>Greet visitors, assess needs, and respond to requests for information.&nbsp; Make referrals to Academic Support Services and Distance Education Department staff and campus community as needed.</li>
<li>Perform general clerical duties including managing incoming phone calls, scheduling students for appointments and managing incoming and outgoing written correspondence for the department.</li>
<li>Perform regular updates to the Testing Services web site and updates to the main campus website.</li>
