The Director of Data Strategy &amp; Institutional Analytics leads the college’s advanced research, data analytics, and decision-support functions. This role owns the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the classification frameworks, metadata schemas, tag libraries, and governance processes that power our omnichannel content, customer data, and engagement ecosystems.The Director will partner with the CRM/Marketing Automation, Omnichannel Engine, Business Insights and Technology, and Worldwide Commercialization Excellence teams to ensure that taxonomy and tagging enable rapid asset discovery, personalization, automation, and performance measurement across all Therapeutic Areas. They will build the COE operating model, lead a team of taxonomy specialists, tag librarians, and tooling experts, and drive adoption of taxonomy best practices across business, BI&amp;T, Sales, and vendor teams.The Director will also ensure that taxonomy and tagging frameworks support integration, analytics, agentic use cases, and regulatory compliance. Through strategy, governance, training, and continuous refinement, this role ensures Bristol Myers Squibb’s omnichannel ecosystem becomes more efficient, data-rich, and scalable.Responsibilities:Define &amp; Maintain Enterprise Taxonomy &amp; Tagging Framework<ul><li>Develop a comprehensive taxonomy covering content, customer, channel, product, campaign, and engagement classifications.</li><li>Build tagging standards and libraries to support personalization, analytics, search/discovery, and automation.</li><li>Ensure consistency and usability of tag libraries across platforms (CRM, marketing automation, content management, analytics).</li></ul>Build the Tagging COE Operating Model &amp; Governance<ul><li>Establish the Taxonomy &amp; Tagging Center of Excellence as a service line: policies, roles/responsibilities, governance forums, and SLA models.</li><li>Define change-control processes for taxonomy updates, tag retirements, versioning, and business-impact assessments.</li><li>Lead the COE team, including taxonomy architects, tag librarians, tool/platform specialists, vendor/agency partners.</li></ul>Enable Omnichannel Execution, Automation &amp; Analytics<ul><li>Partner with Omnichannel Engine and CRM/MA teams to embed taxonomy/tagging logic into workflows, user journeys, and automation.</li><li>Ensure taxonomy supports downstream analytics, AI/ML, personalization logic, next-best-engagement, and reporting.</li><li>Collaborate with Business Insights &amp; Technology to align tag metadata with data models, identity resolution, and platform integrations.</li></ul>Ensure Asset Discovery, Compliance &amp; Efficiency<ul><li>Oversee tagging of content and assets (digital, field, print) to support rapid retrieval, reuse, personalization and targeting.</li><li>Ensure tagging frameworks and asset metadata support regulatory, legal, and compliance reviews as required by pharma commercial operations.</li><li>Drive efficiency by reducing duplication, improving asset findability, and standardizing metadata across franchises.</li></ul>Drive Adoption, Training &amp; Change Management<ul><li>Develop training programs, playbooks, and user guides for content creators, marketers, Sales, digital and vendor teams on taxonomy/tagging best practices.</li><li>Lead stakeholder engagement and adoption initiatives to embed tagging practices into standard workflows and asset build cycles.</li><li>Monitor usage metrics (tag compliance, reuse rate, asset search time) and refine frameworks based on feedback and performance.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement &amp; Data Integrity<ul><li>Partner with Business Insights &amp; Technology to select and configure taxonomy/tagging tooling within the enterprise platform ecosystem</li><li>Pilot and operationalize auto-tagging and metadata enrichment technologies, including AI-assisted classification</li><li>Ensure tags remain accurate and valid across their lifecycle through monitoring, automated validations, and remediation workflows</li><li>Establish controls that prevent misclassification, duplication, or degradation of metadata over time</li></ul>Build, Lead &amp;
