Essential Functions:

<li>Provide leadership, oversight, planning, management, supervision and evaluation of programs and services provided at the Williamson Campus for continued improvement and innovation.</li>
<li>Provide leadership and oversight to enhance and develop outreach business/industry, and continuing education programs for workforce development work collaboratively with the VP of Workforce and External Affairs and Academic affairs for delivery of workforce programs that support the Williamson communities. .</li>
<li>In concert with the President and Executive Leadership, provide recommendations for budget and operational administration for continued development of the Williamson Campus and the College.</li>
<li>In concert with the College’s planning processes, develop measurable, realistic goals for each area supervised that are assessed annually to support the College’s strategic plan.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Williamson County and area schools for strengthening student opportunities to postsecondary education opportunities.&nbsp;</li>

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of the Learning Commons has the&nbsp;primary responsibility for providing leadership for academic student support services designed to enhance student learning and promote student success. This includes tutoring services, academic coaching, academic-related early alert facilitation, testing support, faculty tutor coordination, and other ongoing instructional support initiatives. Job Duties:
Provide leadership to the development and implementation of innovative collegewide learning support initiatives that lead to improved retention and graduation rates. Direct the daily operations and scheduling of the Learning Commons at all Vol State campuses, including providing direct supervision to the Coordinator of the Learning Commons, Senior Administrative Assistant, full-time Specialists, and part-time instructional assistants and tutors. Coordinates professional development opportunities and on-going training to ensure Learning Commons staff are providing quality academic and customer service to students. May support the Deans in offering professional development to faculty in relation to tutoring and other academic support related areas. Partner with academic departments and support units to assess the needs of students and develop and implement innovative academic support programs and strategies that support student learning in the classroom and evolving student needs, including working collaboratively with faculty to develop content-specific programming and support materials. Develop, establish, implement, and review policies and protocols for various academic initiatives, e.g., Ed Ready, high dosage tutoring, STEM and placement test preparation, and pre-requisite support. Encourage faculty involvement in the Learning Commons, to include overseeing faculty participation in student-focused service tutoring opportunities. Facilitate the College’s academic-related early alerts. Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of Learning Commons’ programming, including the development and submission of annual continuous improvement plans, thereby providing leadership for long- and short-term planning, priorities, and goals. Work as a liaison with the IT department and software vendors to assist with technical issues in the Learning Commons. Prepare and manage budgets and record keeping. Address and evaluate accreditation compliance related to academic support services at all Vol State campuses. Develops and implements standardized reporting practices to ensure accurate and consistent monitoring and tracking of student tutoring usage.       Associate Director - Financial Aid
    

This is a full-time, fiscal year contract in the Division of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies and will be primarily stationed in the Dyer County, TN area. This position is grant funded.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in Culinary Arts (or other closely related field as necessary).
Serve as the DSCC Culinary Arts advisor and director.
Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).
Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research- based learning strategies including service-learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skills, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.
Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs (such as interactive (Zoom) rooms), online, or in a hybrid mode, and using accessibility standards.

      Director/Instructor of Culinary Arts
    

This is a full-time, fiscal year contract in the Division of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies and will be primarily stationed in the Dyer County, TN area. This position is grant funded.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach an equivalent of 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in a combination of eSports, Computer Information Technology, and/or Business courses.
Coach the DSCC eSports team.
Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).
Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research- based learning strategies including service-learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skills, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.
Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs (such as interactive (Zoom) rooms), online, or in a hybrid mode, and using accessibility standards.
Become certified in and fully use the course management system for all classes.
Provide course materials and information in a format that is accessible for all students using current and approved standards.
Work with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of courses, analyze the results, develop and implement improvement plans, and document this information each semester in the form prescribed by DSCC.
Participate in professional development and maintain membership in an appropriate regional, state and/or national organization related to your teaching at DSCC.
Assist with the identification and mentoring of adjunct instructors.
Revise and develop curriculum and select textbooks and e-textbooks in cooperation with colleagues and in line with accessibility standards.
Assist in the preparation of class schedules.
Advise students, maintain regular office hours, and participate in college life and committee work of the College.
Willingness to acquire software certifications as needed.
Assist in grant writing and/or grant management.
Actively communicate with colleagues and students using email, voice mail, text and other electronic means. Normally, responses are expected in no more than 72 hours.
Be trained and certified as a Master Advisor.
Willingness to teach in a correctional facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary: Desk work; travel will be required for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimal Hazard/Exposure:
Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate well in oral and written English.
Actively communicate with colleagues using email and other electronic means.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to teach and evaluate student performance.
Ability to maintain required records.
Ability to work with staff and colleagues in department and college committees and related activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Information Technology, Business, or closely related field or associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and demonstrated competencies in the IT field.
Experience in the IT field.

Master’s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
