Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Strategy and Innovation for Access and Leadership Enrichment is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programming that advance equitable access to opportunities and resources to support a collaborative and solution-oriented organizational culture. The Assistant Director fosters a culture of innovation that supports creativity, discovery, and enrichment while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. They supervise the daily operation of the College’s Center for Leadership Enrichment Access and Development (LEAD).
Job Duties
• Access and Leadership Enrichment
o Develop strategic relationships with internal and external constituencies to support student leadership and engagement.
o Identify and connect local business leaders and industry partners with the campus community to enhance the College’s outreach to members of need-to-serve populations.
o Lead the implementation of successful, culturally relevant programs and initiatives that build community and cultivate relationships with campus employees and students
o Direct the daily operations of the Center for Leadership, Enrichment, Access and Discovery (LEAD) and supervise all Center staff.
o Develop policies, projects, and processes that advance equitable access to opportunities and resources that support a collaborative and solution-oriented organizational culture.
o Plan and implement professional development for LEAD Center staff to develop and enhance skills that foster a safe, vibrant, and enriching environment for campus community.
• Strategy and Innovation
o Identify external funding opportunities for new institutional leadership and engagement projects. Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Strategic Initiatives to develop ideas and prepare proposals.
o Research and develop data and feedback systems to report on key performance indicators and ensure continuous improvement based on data-driven assessments and evidence-based practices.
o Identify and implement strategies that strengthen and increase intellectual diversity and promote a climate that facilitates the free and respectful exchange of ideas.
o Oversee the evaluation and assessment of departmental goals and objectives using focus groups, campus climate surveys, and other evaluative instruments.
o Communicate the progress, outcomes, and impacts of initiatives to college leadership through reports, presentations, and other communication channels.
• Develop and monitor assigned budgets and accounts for expenditures.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in education, business, social sciences, or related field from an accredited institution.
• One year of experience in facilitating programs for traditionally underrepresented students from need-to-serve populations. 
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• Two years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience developing, implementing, or managing educational and cultural programs and events at the postsecondary level.
• Experience in higher education assessment or evaluation, including developing/designing surveys, assessment/evaluation plans and rubrics, conducting focus groups, administering surveys, and managing/analyzing complex data sets.
• Experience in grant development and/or grant management.

In the absence of the PACE Director, this position has the authority to authorize payments for all related purchases. Coordinate development, implementation, and revision process for the program’s curriculum design; including but not limited to, course descriptions, course requirements, and evaluation systems. Title: Director of Donor Relations and Programs
POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Donor Relations and Programs develops, implements, manages and assesses a comprehensive donor relations plan to support the strategic growth of foundation and improve internal and external relations for the college. This is accomplished by the Foundation’s annual fundraising plan which includes campaigns, events, donor research and cultivation, and database management. This position will also oversee scholarships and student supports as well as supervision of the Development Associate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the Foundation’s annual fundraising strategy that includes but is not limited to campaigns, events, donor research and cultivation, and database management. Develops, implements and leads a successful and integrated donor relations program that strategically targets all levels of giving as defined by the Foundation team. Ensures donors are acknowledged and recognized to strengthen their financial support for the college. Plans and executes stewardship efforts such as photo opportunities, events, mailings, etc. Works closely with Foundation staff to demonstrate the impact of philanthropy to donors by arranging meaningful and memorable experiences with funding recipients as appropriate. Oversees student resource deployment and other student programs, tracking outcomes and providing donor feedback (grantors and individual donors). Collaborates with other departments to successfully streamline delivering supports to students.
Oversees the management and administration of all foundation scholarships, including donor and recipient communication such as reports to donors, thank you letters, student testimonials, etc. Uses key metrics to achieve higher donor retention rates and donor satisfaction and to assess the current engagement and activity of donors to determine which efforts have the greatest business impact. Prepares reports and presentations of program data for various internal and external audiences. Develops and manages all aspects of the Nashville State Alumni Association and alumni programs, including recruiting and coordinating volunteers, planning events and securing event sponsorships. Oversees and directs the development and implementation of strategic communications in multiple mediums in a timely fashion. This includes, but is not limited to, social media sites, annual reporting, e-blasts, endowment reports, gift acknowledgements, web pages, fundraising campaign materials and press releases.
Manages any fundraising-related and celebratory events. Ensures special events are communicated to executive leadership, board members, officials and invited guests. Creates innovative programs and projects to thank and steward donors, identifying creative and effective mediums to recognize the impact of corporate and individual support. Tracks donor relations and stewardship activities in the established databases to enhance relationships and increase the likelihood of continued contributions. Responsible for the review and control of all gift acknowledgments, including receipts, thank you letters, pledge statements and donor reports. Supervises the Development Associate. Budgetary: The Director of Major Gifts does not have departmental budgetary responsibility or signing authority, but provides input to the Executive Director of the Foundation for operating expenditures. Job Title: Executive Director of Workforce Training
Campus Location:&nbsp;Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)

Essential Job Functions:

<li>Directs employees in department toward successful course offerings and partnerships within 10-county service area while complying with federal and state laws as well as College Policies &amp; Procedures.</li>
<li>Researches and analyzes service area to identify workforce training trends and requirements for the purpose of identifying grant opportunities for department.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Promotes and advocates for the College’s noncredit, certifications, and degree programs.</li>
<li>Manages the department’s revenues and expenses including budgeting, forecasting, and tuition assessment planning.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Teaches variety of customized non-credit courses as well as credit courses for the College as needed.&nbsp;</li>

Required Qualifications:

<li>Master’s degree.

<li>More than 10 years of teaching or organizational training experience, with at least five years serving as a Dean/Director of department.

<li>Demonstrated ability to lead multiple full-time staff and adjunct faculty/part time staff in a positive environment.

<li>Doctoral or terminal degree.

<li>Leadership abilities to include conflict resolution, collaboration, delegation, and problem-solving experience with shared governance.

Leadership &amp; Supervisory:&nbsp;The incumbent has total responsibility for directing the operations of the Department for Workforce Training, including directing and managing seven full-time employees and 50+ non-credit adjunct faculty annually. The incumbent works independently, recommending policies and approving goals and objectives for the Department, and is evaluated by the Vice President on long-term results and actions.
Environment &amp; Working Conditions:&nbsp;Work functions are carried out in a variety of locations including a temperature-controlled office relatively free of distractions and loud noise as well as classroom settings, presentation settings, and different client offices. Regularly spends time traveling by car to client locations and other Walters State campuses and is, therefore, exposed to varying weather and travel conditions.
Physical Demands (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays):

<li>Travels extensively in Walters State’s 10-county service area and occasionally travels outside of service area to attend relevant conferences and training programs.</li>
<li>Utilizes computer extensively requiring some prolonged periods focusing on a monitor and utilizing a keyboard and mouse; some potential for eye strain, neck pain, or repetitive motion injury.</li>

This role involves teaching a variety of business courses, mentoring students, and participating in curriculum development. Roane State Community College is a multi-campus comprehensive community college serving an eight-county area in East Tennessee.
