Title: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY The Program Director is responsible for coordinating the College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The Program Director will lead, supervise, manage and implement all aspects of the program, including classroom and online course development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, faculty supervision and support and revision/modification of all program components as needed and/or required.
This is a non-faculty, 12-month administrative position, which may include some teaching responsibilities based on operational needs and in accordance with College policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, manage and implement the overall operation of the EMS program. Recruit, develop, supervise and evaluate program faculty and ensure adequate staffing for program courses. Establish annual institutional goals for the program, including curriculum development, implementation and assessment. Lead all external program accreditation efforts, including self-studies, site visits and reporting. Maintain accreditation with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP. Coordinate with clinical sites for student placement, orientation and communication. Act as liaison between faculty, sponsoring agencies, students, the local medical community and the State’s Division of Emergency Medical Services, including continually evaluating and monitoring program progress and objectives as they relate to the program’s licensing, registering and certifying agencies. Foster industry relationships to promote and market the program and to recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty. Facilitate advisory committee meetings and maintain proper documentation. Monitor student performance data and ensure completion of the College’s Academic Program Review and the TBR Academic Audit. Plan, conduct and document regular departmental meetings.
Manage online course delivery and ensure all model courses are current. Oversee textbook adoption, publisher coordination and faculty training on instructional materials. Provide academic and career advising. Manage student concerns and coordinate responses. Oversee facilities and equipment use for all EMS courses. Maintain department budget and inventory. Recommend and coordinate equipment purchases. Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and College policies, guidelines, licensure requirements and other state and federal guidelines. Complete required College trainings. In addition to primary administrator responsibilities, may teach as assigned, and/or as needed, including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses. Teaching includes developing and revising curriculum for credit, non-credit and online classes, maintaining regular office hours and submitting required reports, such as engagement, early alerts, surveys and grades, in accordance with established deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree
Must possess a current EMT-Paramedic, Registered Nurse or Physician license and/or hold all credentials for which students are being prepared in the program
Professional license(s) must be free from history of revocation, denial or suspension
Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of EMS educational administration experience
Current endorsement in a Board approved trauma, cardiac and pediatric course at the provider level
Knowledge of current National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree
Proficiency in instructional methods, testing and evaluation of students
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff and student populations. Ability to travel extensively throughout the service region as needed and/or required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

POSITION SUMMARY The Director of the Teaching Center provides dynamic leadership to Teaching Fellows and is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, and assessing professional development experiences for Nashville State faculty. The Director oversees the programming and activity of the Teaching Center and develops, leads, manages, and supports faculty professional learning, programming, and activities of all faculty across all modalities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides vision, leadership and institutional effectiveness planning for the Teaching Center. Leads, plans, coordinates, and implements professional development programs to support full-time and adjunct faculty across their various career stages and teaching modalities. Leads, plans, coordinates, and implements intentional on-boarding training and programs to support full-time and adjunct faculty across teaching modalities. Works closely with academic affairs leadership and faculty senate to provide vision and guidance, while fostering collaboration among the various departments and programs that support effective faculty professional development and advancement of the College’s academic initiatives. Develops an annual calendar for professional development training for faculty in various academic disciplines. Tracks, assesses, and annually reports on professional development opportunities provided to, and attended by, both full-time and adjunct faculty.
Curates and disseminates research and resources on learning and teaching effectiveness and pedagogical and andragogical best practice to all faculty to enhance student learning and engagement. Provides online and in-person faculty training and coaching for online and on-ground teaching and learning with applied learning theories and best practices. Participates in selecting, training, and supervising employees assigned to the Teaching Center, including Teaching Fellows. Serves as the High Impact Practices (HIPs) lead to TBR and manages tracking of HIPs across classes. Advises college administration on matters regarding faculty professional development. Manages and continuously improves the Teaching Center webpage. Manages the budget of the Teaching Center. Mentors adjunct faculty to provide training, support, and foster a sense of belonging. May teach as needed or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of at least Five (5) years of college teaching experience in multiple modalities
Experience working in a community college environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience developing professional development experiences within a higher education environment
Three (3) years of experience leading and developing educational strategies
Experience with institutional effectiveness reporting and/or program evaluation
Experience leading faculty and/or developing and implementing student success strategies within a higher education environment

Title: Director of Paralegal Studies – 9/10 Month Instructor (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This a nine-month faculty position responsible for leading the Paralegal Studies program and delivering quality instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach day and/or evening courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Provide leadership for the Paralegal Studies program. Build partnerships with external stakeholders and maintain relationships with the Paralegal Studies Advisory Committee. Maintain compliance with American Bar Association guidelines and submit required reports as requested. Work with adjunct program faculty to ensure consistent student experiences.
