POSITION SUMMARY:&nbsp;The Director of Didactic Education is responsible for oversight of all aspects of the didactic phase of the Physician Assistant Program. It is expected that the Director of Didactic Education will provide effective leadership toward meeting program and student learning outcomes related to the pre-clinical phase of the program. The Director of Didactic Education will work with the Program Director and other members of the PA Faculty to ensure that the program's didactic phase is in compliance with all ARC-PA Accreditation Standards pertaining to didactic training. The Director of Didactic Education should work in synergy with their counterparts at other PA program campuses within South University. The Director of Didactic Education is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) with the Physician Assistant Program.The incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and maintenance of an environment, which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion. This position offers a $10,000 signing bonus.KEY JOB ELEMENTS:<ul><li>Coordinates curriculum development with the Director of Clinical Education which includes the design and implementation of the program’s didactic phase with the program’s student learning outcomes and PA competencies.</li><li>Oversees didactic phase curriculum evaluation, assessment, and improvement to include courses, students, and teaching faculty.</li><li>Manages faculty coordination by assigning coursework to instructional faculty in the didactic phase of instruction.</li><li>Serves on the PA Department’s application review and candidate interviews), and student selection meetings.</li><li>Engages in service, community, and campus relations, PAC (Program Advisory Committee) meetings, and scholarly activities appropriate to the role of Director of Didactic Education and PA faculty.</li><li>Participates in faculty development opportunities each year as required in the areas of teaching and academic administration.</li><li>Assists with clinical site development and clinical site monitoring.</li><li>Provides remedial instruction as needed.</li><li>Assists with other responsibilities as POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Director is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience). The Medical Director supports the Program Director in ensuring that both didactic instruction and supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) meet current practice standards related to the physician assistant (PA) role in patient care. The Medical Director is responsible for actively developing the program's mission statement, providing teaching and instruction, evaluating student performance, designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating curriculum, and evaluating the program to ensure adherence to ARC-PA accreditation standards.
