Title: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY The Program Director is responsible for coordinating the College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The Program Director will lead, supervise, manage and implement all aspects of the program, including classroom and online course development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, faculty supervision and support and revision/modification of all program components as needed and/or required.
This is a non-faculty, 12-month administrative position, which may include some teaching responsibilities based on operational needs and in accordance with College policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, manage and implement the overall operation of the EMS program. Recruit, develop, supervise and evaluate program faculty and ensure adequate staffing for program courses. Establish annual institutional goals for the program, including curriculum development, implementation and assessment. Lead all external program accreditation efforts, including self-studies, site visits and reporting. Maintain accreditation with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP. Coordinate with clinical sites for student placement, orientation and communication. Act as liaison between faculty, sponsoring agencies, students, the local medical community and the State’s Division of Emergency Medical Services, including continually evaluating and monitoring program progress and objectives as they relate to the program’s licensing, registering and certifying agencies. Foster industry relationships to promote and market the program and to recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty. Facilitate advisory committee meetings and maintain proper documentation. Monitor student performance data and ensure completion of the College’s Academic Program Review and the TBR Academic Audit. Plan, conduct and document regular departmental meetings.
Manage online course delivery and ensure all model courses are current. Oversee textbook adoption, publisher coordination and faculty training on instructional materials. Provide academic and career advising. Manage student concerns and coordinate responses. Oversee facilities and equipment use for all EMS courses. Maintain department budget and inventory. Recommend and coordinate equipment purchases. Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and College policies, guidelines, licensure requirements and other state and federal guidelines. Complete required College trainings. In addition to primary administrator responsibilities, may teach as assigned, and/or as needed, including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses. Teaching includes developing and revising curriculum for credit, non-credit and online classes, maintaining regular office hours and submitting required reports, such as engagement, early alerts, surveys and grades, in accordance with established deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree
Must possess a current EMT-Paramedic, Registered Nurse or Physician license and/or hold all credentials for which students are being prepared in the program
Professional license(s) must be free from history of revocation, denial or suspension
Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of EMS educational administration experience
Current endorsement in a Board approved trauma, cardiac and pediatric course at the provider level
Knowledge of current National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice

In this role, you will lead a team focused on using cutting edge machine learning and advanced statistical methods to analyze high-dimensional patient and pre-clinical data.In partnering with biologists to build and prosecute a discovery cancer immunology portfolio, you and your team will be responsible for identifying and developing novel pre-clinical cancer immunology therapeutic concepts. In this role, you will collaboratively define and implement the computational strategy focused on cancer immunology. Your work will directly impact the discovery and development of novel therapies for cancer patients.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage and develop a team of computational scientists partnering on shared drug discovery objectives.</li><li>Define and implement computational strategy to identify novel therapeutic concepts.</li><li>Manage a team working with diverse data modalities, including spatial transcriptomics, single cell RNA-seq, high throughput proteomics, RNA-Seq, multiplex flow cytometry, and clinical data</li><li>Mentor and guide scientists on your team performing deep and innovative analyses of these data to comprehensively evaluate patient-derived data for the purpose of developing testable therapeutic hypotheses.</li><li>In close collaboration with teams across Research and Development (including biologists, computational biologists, and clinicians), develop holistic translational data packages for target concept opportunities.</li><li>Communicate findings and recommend follow-up actions in multiple settings (including 1:1, seminars, and team meetings). Participate in authorship of scientific reports and present methods and conclusions to publishable standards.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of academic/industry experience, or</li><li>Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or</li><li>PhD with 8+ years of experience in computational biology, computational cancer immunology, or a related field</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>PhD from a recognized institution in a quantitative field such as computational biology, computational cancer immunology or related.</li><li>Experience managing computational scientists to deliver on broad objectives is preferred; experience in matrix management of cross- functional teams is strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience analyzing and integrating high-dimensional molecular datasets such as multi-omics (e.g., RNA-seq, proteomics), single cell (scRNA-seq), genome-wide genotyping array, or spatial transcriptomics datasets</li><li>Advanced hands-on knowledge of at least one high-level programming language such as R or Python for computational and reproducible research practices</li><li>Track record (such as scientific publications) in driving and advancing research projects/programs with computational approaches&nbsp;</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills</li><li>Background in cancer immunology preferred</li></ul>The starting compensation for this job is a range from $211,950 - $256,800 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
